A "pretty" website, although looks could still be improved, is the least of our problems with SEO again being the biggest. Truly I think we would be better off having a main section of our website including the homepage and all non-wiki content such as screenshots, downloads, etc. freeallegiance.org/forums/ would would only be the forums and blog. IPB is not good as a content management system and we would be better off using something else. It also does not help that our video playlist no longer loads. I think YouTube changed something on their end and as a result we need to update the embed code. I sent TigerEye new code to swap in 2-3 days ago, but have not gotten a reply.

We have had THIS for a long time now. Wordpress is insane, I use it for 90% of my clients just for the simple fact the framework can be manipulated so well and it allows the non developers to update it frequently with little help.

As you can see the site directly publish's the news feed from our IPBoard. However it was never really designed correctly and looks @#(!. I would love the IPB homepage to be replaced with a wordpress one and do away with the current html static page. Il bet there is enough bridges out there for IPB and WP. Failing all that install the frontend IPB system and redesign it.

SEO should be a number one priority, there are enough systems out there now to allow bots to read forums without spammers getting in. Even if the odd few do, we have enough Admins/Mods sat around to sort the issue.

+100 it serves nothing at the moment but to turn players off and away and remind us noone is on.

There is a time delay for the online players list, it isnt exactly live.


The game is in a deathly downward spiral, players have left and there is no longer players to replace them. Couple that with the current market and dated feel Allegiance has, we just cant win. Hell I have put countless gaming and development hours into Allegiance over the years and even I cant be bothered to login anymore.

Wordpress, yes, that needs to be done too.



However what seems to be happening in this community is a lack of heart and/or time from some of the ZL's, that's fair enough, life is often crazy busy and I suppose if they no longer have the time or feel enough of a reward for volunteering their time, things grind to a halt. With all the hours I spend volunteering at a soup kitchen and community groups I know that the thing that carries most volunteers is appreciation for their efforts. So kudos to them, and time for elections or something for vacant/inactive positions.
