That happens. The other day I was fighting this dude on a hill, flying all over the place, and he must have had a ton of HP while I was a level -5 Pathfinder... he couldn't hit me, and I hit him dead on like 5 times and killed him. I was like "GOD I AM SO GOOD" and then proceeded to be blasted out of the sky for the remainder of the night.

It was a fun feeling while it lasted.

Tribes is just a hard game to get used to really.

I used to be $#@!ing BAMF at Starseige: Tribes. Which was $#@!ing hardcore let me tell you. Then they came out with Tribes 2 which is like vanilla tribes.

Tribes: Ascend is actually a good balance. Faster game-play than (unmodded) Tribes 2, yet less chaotic than SS:Tribes.

As far as the Micro-transactions...I never felt an unfair advantage, but I was playing alpha and beta so not sure if they changed things a whole bunch.

I am just really, really, REALLY hoping that Planetside 2 keeps their promise of not selling items that give advantages. PS2 is a game I am looking forward to very much, and SOE better not $#@! it up.

OMG they're doing Planetside 2? Omg! I freakin loved Planetside, back in the day when it was fun.

Not a whole lot of faith in Sony right now, but it can't be that had to build a new engine and keep to the same core principles.

Gotta remember, they dont consider it giving someone an advantage if someone that isnt paying has the ability to get the item. Most people are ok with letting someone pay real cash for shortcuts.

So I tried it out, but don't really like it. I don't like the having to unlock classes and lack of options, and it seems that no matter the game it just seems like its all a glorified death match, I mean thats pretty much the same as Tribes 2 but there seems to be more teamwork in it. Think I will stick with Tribes 2 instead.

i'm not too keen on a lot of the things they're doing, it feels like they're just taking the core concept of planetside, making it functionally play similar to battlefield games, and adding business-hinged customization @#(! for microtransactions

i'll make a real planetside 2 thread when beta starts, i'm sure

I'm swinging back to pathfinder as my favourite class again. If you play it right the pwnage is endless. Nearly got my bolt launcher.

Though doombringer is hilarious. I was playing CTF one day and saw someone with the name Jyppa trying to be a smartass. So for his insolence in using that nick I missiled him for the rest of the game. After I tabbed out to Steam I saw a couple of hate filled messages - turned out it was actually him :D

p.s.: MUAHAHAHAAA ... DOOOOOOOOOM

Yeah, I tried soldier but I dunno, pathfinder just seems the way I like and always have liked to play tribes. Light nimble and spamming discs.

I play fully upgraded stock PTH. I researched everything and upgraded them completely (except for a few perks) and I can say that I'm one deadly SOB. Now where do I put the prox mines :( PTH with prox .... WANT (but will never happen)
