Horrible story about the NYPD
Santorum levels of hatassery.
"I'm sorry, if you have a penis, you're attracted to women. If you have a vagina, you are attracted to men. If you claim otherwise, you have a mental disorder. That's how I see it. It's nothing to be ashamed of, just as there is no shame in having any other health issue. It's a biological mandate. This country is going to hell in a handbasket. At one point do we draw the line between "choice" and "mental disease?" If a person claims he's attracted to ducks, do we then set up legislature to let him marry ducks? girly, you're gonna say that this is SO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT and berate me for being a closed minded, insensitive jerk. But before you do, answer this: Why is a man being attracted to other men different from a man being attracted to ducks?"
Try to see what several separate things are wrong with the above, and maybe you'll be able to logically derive what's wrong with your original statement, too!
Or maybe not! I don't know.
"Why is the man not a duck? Because he doesn't look like a duck? Because he is, in fact, a man? Because being a duck instead of a man isn't a choice?" Sometimes it is indeed very hard to tell the difference between human beings and various species of fowl.
Now I need to go look at some videos of adorable puppies or something for an hour.

Are you suggesting that a man attracted to ducks can legitimately be called quackers?girlyboy wrote:QUOTE (girlyboy @ Feb 15 2012, 03:31 PM) Santorum levels of hatassery.

DK, what you did is called "blaming the victim".
Basically you were making light of what the cops were doing by describing it as (or drawing a parallel with)
QUOTE quietly being amused of a man wearing a dress"
And then turning it around with this
QUOTE or making someone feel like a total immature piece of @#(! for showing amusement of such a thing?
Which sounds like you're suggesting the behavior of the cops (quietly amused were they?) was all natural and normal, and people are being mean to them by thinking they should feel bad about such.

I hope that's not what you meant, but that's roughly how it comes across.
