..and I lost all the core and code work I did on Sunday (joy!)
But anyway.. restored my backup to a HD I had lying around and... oh...my....$#@!ing...god.... THIS IS SLOWER THAN $#@!!
Wow....I mean I expected some slowdown. But this is like 1/10th the speed. It's $#@!ing terrible. It's I-want-to-gouge-my-eyes-out slow.
So if there is anyone out there who wants to speed up their system... go for it man. This SSD had my first install of Win 7 so I was under the impression that some of the speed up was due to Win 7. $#@! NO!. It was just the SSD all the way.
So my SSD died....

It's a Vertex (1) - it already had a sufficiently new firmware on it. Just started bluescreening out of the blue after a year of use, and subsequent scan showed lots of bad sectors.
And OCZs RMA form is a PITA.

The best thing to do (unless you can afford like.....2x 500GB SSDs to RAID1)
Is just get a 60GB SSD (SRT caps at 60GB) for use with Intel SRT in Enhanced mode (so all the data cached on the SSD is also backed up on the HDD)
also works amazingly well when coming out of sleep mode because you don't have to wait for the hard drive to spin up as all the Windows files you need are gonna be cached onto the SSD

At this point in their development I would not trust a single SSD with valuable data
either 2 of them in a RAID 1 array
1 of them in conjuction with a HDD using SRT in Enhanced mode
or 1 of them with just some stuff like Windows and such installed on it and everything else on the HDD (similar to SRT but not as badass)
