That does look pretty decent. The only thing I may want to up is the ram, but I can always do that later, especially because ddr4 is apparently due at some point next year.

Not possible, you would need to buy a new motherboard and possibly cpu(depending on backwards compatibility) to get into ddr4.

You just had 8 gigs of ram, is it necessary to have more?

My primary goal was to match your specified build as closely as possible. Also, I checked, and ddr4 isn't expected to drop until 2014/2015, so I wouldn't think too much of it.

That being said, I have 6GB in my system, but ram is so cheap it would be silly not to get more. There was a $7 difference between 4x2GB sticks and 4x4GB sticks.

Well 8gigs would be the minimum, is it necessary to have 12 or 16?

With the 1155 socket CPUs, the available ram choices are 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, or 16GB. Regarding more RAM, it's not really necessary, unless you like to do things such as run the entire adobe suite at once, for example. But with a $7 difference, I personally would not think twice about the extra ram, especially if you have no intention of fiddling with the computer down the road. There are many other places to save money before going there.

Oh I see, they should have the total in brackets for math challenged monkeys such as myself.
