Foo Fighters decided to run a counter-protest against the homophobic Westboro Baptist Church. The church had planned to protest the Foo's shows, but the band decided to show up at the protest to perform in the back of one of their touring vehicles. The report from ABC News notes:

The band wore the costumes they used in their recent parody video "Hot Buns" , and mocked the protesters who are known for their anti-homosexual views. Lyrics in the Foo Fighters song taunted the church's views, saying "Driving all night, got a hankering for something/Think I'm in the mood for some hot-man muffins/Mmmm, sounds so fine, yes indeed."

Foo Fighters lead singer Dave Grohl ended the performance by saying: "Ladies and gentlemen,God bless America! Land of the free, home of the brave"

Anyone here see that BBC investigative documentary by (that guy, forgot his name) on the Westboro Baptist Church?

Its not really a church, its a cult. A sad, angry, effective one.

His name is something like Louis Theron Theroux (thanks google). But that guy makes relatively normal things look absurd, so I wouldn't read much into his doco.

@OP That's pretty awesome.

Louis Theroux is very good at asking awkward questions. I would recommend watching his documentaries (I think he did 2 of them on the WBC) they are extremely entertaining. The guy has a talent for getting under peoples skin while remaining completely composed and polite. It's $#@!ing hilarious when the interviewees go ballistic at him.

I formed my opinion of Americans through WBC, WWE, WKN & WCCO Minnesota.

My conclusion: They like W's.

I always shop at Walmart & Walgreens because I presume them to be their most upmarket stores.
