Vampire Bloodlines, I guess he refers to the original. He doesn't seem to have found a way to avoid the boss fights. If one doesn't have to fight them, I'll indeed call him a noob. What should be have done?spideycw wrote:QUOTE (spideycw @ Aug 27 2011, 01:12 AM) It's sort of stupid that he didn't mention that in the original you didn't even have to kill any of the bosses as I recall. Gaming noobs sigh

madpeople hoped for DX1 with nice graphics and new story line. Discovered an RPG with experience points and shooter where your life regenerates in a few seconds of hiding. Not enough variation augmentation, looks like you can upgrade everything - no choosing between cloak types or remote control drones.
Still, it's al-right, will play some more before judging it. It does support eyefinity well though which is nice
Are there any games these days where your health doesn't regenerate by its self after taking cover?

I dunno, was always tense when you have that slither of health left and fighting for survival, gets that adrenaline rush, the satisfaction and relief of just grabbing the health when you need it most.
Still can't really say it's a good or bad development as that just comes down to personal opinion. However it is unusual for RPG's to have quick health-regen from hiding in a corner, scrounging is a common aspect in RPG's so not unusual to go hunting for health.

Halo 1 was a good mix, having no health in the library and relying on the shield to get me to the health pack I strategically left earlier was intense
edit: tense -> intense

yeah i really hated halo 2 for that reason and others. Health regenning in fps games is stupid. I can agree with it in rpg games, where you regen slowly out of combat, but absorbing 10 mg rounds and hiding behind a crate for 20 seconds to recoup is dumb
