I wish you the best of luck in extending your clan to Allegiance. I was once in your shoes a little over a year ago when I brought back Steel Fury (@SF). It took me about 3 months from start to finish to get enough people together for the roster (...and that's with 8 or so members from the "Old Guard" joining back up). Your best bet for recruitment is to either get members of your clan from other games to join up or try to recruit some of the newer Allegiance players.

Pretty much everyone who wants to be in a squadron is in a squadron and it's very hard to find "fresh meat". Trust me on this as I had availability problems for a long time even after being officially recognized. It was too hard to turn out enough players to play matches especially when all the other squadrons are twice your size. Occasionally, we still have this problem, but it's now mainly due with people going on leave due to work, school, etc. I have 32 pilots on our roster with 24 active. On a good day, we can turn out about 12 pilots. The rule of thumb is to expect a 35-50% turnout rate for matches.

Allegiance squadrons are vastly different than their counterparts in Quake, Counter-Strike, Unreal, Battlefield 2, etc. A player can figure out one of those games in a matter of days and become a somewhat decent player within a few weeks. In Allegiance, it takes 3-4 months just to nail down the basics. The learning curve in this game is so high that we have a special training academy setup to help shorten the learning process. How many games you know have a learning curve of a 3-4 months? /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />

Again, I hope you succeed in your endeavor. It will not be easy and sometimes you'll want to tear your hair out, but it's all very worthwhile if you are able to pull it off. Please feel free to send me a PM if you wish to discuss anything as I've done everything you're about to do. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Good luck with everything.

Just FYI if your looking for the most challenging team based game available, then you've found it. Allegiance will test your competative spirit and your team work ability like no other. If that's not what your looking for then quit now. This game requires alot of time, patience and an open mind to new ways of thinking.

Hope to see you around.

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.

Hagman,

If any of your clan is interested in playing around and getting a feel for things, let me know. I'm still a new player but I would be happy to act as a comm on a practice server so you guys can get used to the game. Just send me a PM and we can set something up.
