You basically just agreed with me there. But you berate me. I hate stupidity.

Game size restrictions would fix most of the problems.

About the only time we hit higher than a 30 v. 30 is during a "{Squad(s)} v. World" game.

Most of the time it's closer to the 5 v. 5 - 15 v. 15 range for pugs.

Restricting the sizes of games won't do squat, man.

Well the thing that bugged me is that Bard's issues dealt with forum banning people rather than game banning people. I mean, really. If you're trying to save A GAME then why bother going to the forums? Half the people that post don't play the game ANYWAY. "Woohoo, look at me. I forum banned all of the slightly abnormal people. That will fix the game."

I don't know if you realize this, but I bet at the root of all of these posts is a desire to help allegiance.

"Allegiance is dying" is a message to kick us into action.
Posts to change Allegiance *should* begin with the intent to change it for the better.

And some posts are just to be funny.

You complain that the people that scare off newbies are the people actually playing the game? Oh, I suppose the forums are the issue. Forum banning a person doesn't mean that they can't play Allegiance, as was illustrated by Slap. Game ban a person because you don't like them? That's certainly fair. Let's ban everyone who hurts someone else's feelings! Wait, there goes some of the oldest players in Allegiance!

If you wouldn't have looked back, that's fine. That's you. Others might stay. I never would've joined the forums in the first place if I didn't have problems getting Allegiance to work. Then I guess you'd have 1 less retard to yell at but whatevs. I feel that my experience is shared by many newbies in that we don't know that the forums exist until we need them.

You don't address the actual issue which is THE GAME ITSELF. Shocking, I know! And personally, I feel having more people PLAYING THE GAME is a far more useful approach to saving Allegiance than forum banning the likes of myself, k10, weylin, Alien, and whoever you feel is "not cool enough" to sit at the "big boys table." You want to save Allegiance? Put forth 1 game a day, prime-time. Or even help the newbs in the off hours like right now. What you're practically saying is, "Allegiance isn't cool anymore because the other people that now like Allegiance found it." What, are you that emo kid who only listens to bands until they're on the radio?

I really don't know why the forum stupidity matters, new players only see the News topic, and most only register to get to the help line.

For better or worse the forum is part of the game. It’s the glue that holds it all together and as any number of people know an annoying forum personality will affect you in game. You pop into the forum for a round of dick jokes, clever posts from the famous personalities, and some good old debates. If what you find is the equivalent of these gents try to be clever and acting like thiswell its drives one to distraction. If others act in a manner the community finds unpleasant here it will spill over into the game. Worse it drives players off because who wants their fun time dominated by being annoyed by others. Any whinging on the point serves no purpose given this is pretty much human nature on display via the intertubez

The @#(! going on in game recently is annoying as $#@!. I have to believe I'm not in the minority with this opinion. I tried for about two solid weeks, almost every day, and numerous times on the weekend to play a game. Forced myself to wait for at least fifteen minutes for something to launch. I think I was able to play, any game at all, three times no matter the faction, settings, or stack. The experience was not enjoyable in any of them. Matter of fact probably the last week I resorted to playing with by myself just putzing about bored out of my mind. Exactly how long do you think this will continue being something I'm willing to do? How many people will be willing to even go a week let alone two before they hang it up for something else?

The mantra of "just play a game a day, every day" does not work. It is now an obligation, a job, something you force yourself to do. "STFU and play" while catchy is more of a road sign then some sure fired way to save the game, or the end all be all response to EVERYTHING.

Look I wouldn't like being called out in public at all. On top of that it is El Bardo who has a sharp tongue and one clever mofo to boot. El Bardo drives home a point via sledge hammer. Bard herds you to the point with minstrel music, wine, and amusing tales of wenching. It stings either way at the end of the day but at least there's music with the later. To further torture the use of analogy, if I got a punch in the mouth by Shaq I'd come up swinging... the first time and then go off to figure out how to not have this occur again. If for no other reaon that @#(! really, really hurts

MrChaos says, "STFU and play MrChaos"

The game is great when players get their @#(! together and go as one, but most of the time it's just a bunch of pilots flying around randomly.
You're lucky to get two nans on a bomb run out of a team of 15.

Oh for $#@!s sake! Allegiance is NOT dieing and all this crap about the net code being crappy is a little over the top really. The only reason it's got that rep is because CERTAIN cretins people abuse their talents instead of using them to benefit others.

Last night I decided to see what was available on the Linux networks for free games. I was quite surprised that Zero ballistics ran like a sack of @#(! (I'm running a Nvidia 9500GT with 700 odd MB on it) and only one game running with 3 players in game. I would have thought that it would be really popular, seeing as World of Tanks is a big thing at the moment and I soon found out why.

Evey couple of minutes I lost connection with the server. After 5 tries I gave up. Now that's crappy net code. That game is new and It's already dieing. Allegiance is in a period of evolution.

When I joined Allegiance in 2008 the player base was much the same as it is now. The graphics ain't brilliant but it runs smoothly and I so very rarely get a server time out, about 2 or 3 times a year.

I feel that there is nothing wrong with the game or the community just that the game is very hard to find in the first place and it has a steep learning curve. Or course there are the occasional spats and some one goes storming off, vowing never to return unless everyone bends to their will (you know who you are).

Face it! If Allegiance WAS dieing then this thread would NOT have gone on for 10 $#@!ing pages!
