Actually, I'm pretty sure there's still some space left in Brood's mom.

Yeah. I'm fairly certain that's what quadrant of space voyager got lost in, the problem is noone wants to strap a board to their arse and go spelunking in that particular cave.BackTrak wrote:QUOTE (BackTrak @ Jun 17 2011, 04:22 PM) Actually, I'm pretty sure there's still some space left in Brood's mom.
It's a gift that keeps on giving:
Japan nuclear: Radiation halts water clean-up
QUOTE Operators of Japan's Fukushima nuclear plant have suspended an operation to clean contaminated water hours after it began due to a rapid rise in radiation...
Radioactive sludge?
A spokesman for the plant operators, the Tokyo Electric Power Company (Tepco), said engineers were trying to find the cause of the jump in radiation levels.
"The level of radiation at a machine to absorb caesium has risen faster than our initial projections," the spokesman said.[/quote]

The only reason they're not experiencing this same exact problem in Omaha right now is because they knew the snow was going to melt so they had time to shut off the reactors FIRST.

Or at least using it to make a better cup of tea.Bard wrote:QUOTE (Bard @ Jun 17 2011, 03:24 PM) What I can't figure out is this:
For all the awesome power potential present in the materials we use for nuclear reactors, we're still just using it to turn water into steam via heat.
That's right. Our Nuclear Reactors are GLORIFIED TEA KETTLES.
There's *got* to be a more efficient way of converting that @#(! into electricity...
