Double-click troubles

I tried to join a game today, but the program wasn't registering my clicks, unless I double-clicked, until I got into the game lobby. Once in the lobby, it started treating all my clicks like double-clicks, so I automatically joined any team I clicked on. I got in just before we lost, so I didn't get much time to see if I had troubles in-game. I restarted the program several times, and the problem only occurs within Allegiance, so it's not a problem with my hardware. It's worked fine for months, just started doing this today. Is this a known problem, and if so, is there a solution to it?

No, you're problem sounds VERY unique. The Admins are really busy right now, but I'm sure someone will be able to help you eventually. If you single click on an icon on you're Windows desktop, does it launch the program?

For me it sounds like a mouse driver problem.

Open mouse options within the control panel:

Some drivers offer treating all clicks as double click...

I've had this problem many times since R5.

My solution was to go into device manager and remove ALL other mice except the one I was using.

EVERY time I plug in a different mouse, I have to go back and do this.

Disabling them works sometimes, but for absolute certainty, I have had to completely uninstall the devices from device manager.

(edit - PLEASE list all mouse types you have that show up in device manager. I would LOVE to get "steps to reproduce" so this can be bug reported. So far, I'm the only person I know of who has had this problem.)

It can also be an old mouse, my old Saitek every so often treats a single click as a double even triple click.

@pkk: this is the same mouse I've been using the entire time. And the mouse only does this in Allegiance, not elsewhere. Wouldn't a driver problem be universal?

The difference is, the mouse I'm using, I've been using since I started playing a couple months ago. Except for the new batteries.

I have had this problem in the past too. (There is at least one additional Helpline post about it)

Mouse clicks were registering correctly for awhile and then started behaving as you described. This only occurred within Allegiance.

Unfortunately, I never found an actual solution. It just stopped happening as mysteriously as it started.

I don't believe in mysterious, unexplained occurrences with computers... I guess no one was able to figure out the root cause.

Thanks for the links. My computer restarted itself, and rebooting was one of the suggestions, I'll see if it worked in a couple hours, when I have time.
