We don't need new blood that is thin skinned
because generally speaking, if you are thin-skinned you will never get good at this game
and we have enough "old blood" who suck
figure out why you got booted and correct it
or if it's decided the commander is just an idiot, don't fly for him again
There's a new sheriff in town.

Thanks again everyone for the replies. If you read the log that was posted about me, you can see that I don't know what is going on. I am starting to learn more about the game, and obviously why I was booted both times, both because of sophomore ignorance for the game. I am learning :)

It's good (and rare!) for a newbie to admit their mistake. Learn from it, and as a rule don't get on the chat unless you are asking questions (where is the bbr?, do you need a nan?, etc). Newbies who give orders and/or try to push their "tactics" on the commanders find themselves unwelcome too often.

I recommend taking AFS Blackclap, with you being new to the game, joining AFS will help you learn alot and grasp the basics. :)

yeah I read something about that a few days back, I just tried comming a dead game and man there is a ton to keep track of. This game is layered all over the place. At some point I might do that, still trying to wrap my head around this game :)

Actually, AFS is there for just this reason - to help you with wrapping your head around this game ;)

You're not so bad, just a little more situational awareness (F3,F5,F6, minimap), maybe experiment some mods from mesials site (wiki it), and take AFS (you can read it even if you don't apply, wiki again).
And ofc, ask away when playing....

another lame boot; end of game I stepped away without AFK and was booted....so now I have to wait until a 46 player match....

why does booting result in total expulsion from the game? I don't see how my not posting my AFK would result in such an effect.....

If you go AFK in game without telling your com, you're open to a boot. I'm sorry, but that's just how it works. Otherwise the commander (and rest of team) is going to be relying on you to do something useful, instead of knowing that you're away and relying on someone else.

If you go afk for any appreciable time, you'll get booted even if you tell the com. It makes sense if you think about it -- you're occupying a slot that an active player could be occupying.

The best thing to do if you have to go afk is quit to the lobby first.

If you're booted, have an alternate nick ready and log in with that one instead.

There's no need for drama on this point.
