Yeah. So if "newbie" is in game title and people don't notice it before starting game then we get a lot of banned players...

I don't really see the logic in this as we already have dedicated newbie servers and a game setting option for novice only, but since it is a rule that I find somewhat entertaining I'm not too concerned. But I'm still left with a few questions on how the auto-ban system actually works:

a) It never seems to ban every non-novice who plays in the game. From the few times I've seen it enforced it's always banned 7 of at least 10 (usually more) non-novice players.
b) It always bans everyone at once (or very close together) after a seemingly random amount of time. This is troublesome because it has the potential to completely unbalance teams if the soon-to-be-banned tend to favor one side of the next game in main.
c) The amount of time each ban is supposed to last seems random, but not really. It hasn't been a problem since usually someone else complains and the bans are removed anyways, but I've noticed that the ban is consistently longer for me. Like I said, they get removed, but sometimes I am amazed to see everyone walking away with 1 or 2 hour bans and getting a solid 100 myself.

Anyways if we are set on keeping this somewhat unknown rule then maybe it would be a good idea that the word 'main' in game title counteracts its auto-ban potential.

A while back it was fairly common for people to launch a game, put "newbie" in the title to bait new folks into the game, then whore on them mercilessly. It happened often enough, and was complained about often enough that it was decided to implement the "Newbie" rule.

a) Everyone I've seen that has violated the rules has generally been banned. Those who weren't may not have been in the game long enough to violate the rule.
b) Once the game ends, TAG posts the game to our stats server which then does its end-game work which would include checking for bannable offenses.
c) Ban times are a function of your history. There's a multiplier effect. The more you get banned, the longer each subsequent ban.

Like I said...

I didnt realize this was how it worked.. I knew being on the newbie server would get you banned... I did not realize the NAME NEWBIE IN THE TITLE was what tripped the trigger..

Okay... since you cant fix it I thought you were just being a jerk... thanks for the explaiation...

Cable, I've already stated clearly and unequivocally than I do not have the power to reverse it or I would. What part of that do you not understand?

That makes more sense. I've had a lot of 0min afk bans in the past.

Thanks for the explanation.

FYI, 0 minute AFK bans aren't calculated into that. Those are considered "zero rated" for the purposes of calculating ban times.

Contact BV. Explain the situation. He may reverse it (he has done so in the past with misunderstandings)

Cable was being stupid. And with the auto-AFK you can't just change settings and launch. So there is really no excuse for rank 15+ vets to not notice the change. Its been this way for YEARS.
