but... why not set the game so that when you join a team, the defaut wing you are given is a wing that can hear the commanders orders?

Or better idea, have the game remember the wing you were on, so it defaults to that. Or give the player a "default wing" option.

Its annoying to have to set one's wing to command everytime the GC flushes... and worse, it resets when you drop out of a game, and you forget to reset it.

Wrong area, leadhead. This isn't controllable in the core, but in code. So such suggestions go to the Dev forum. I'd move it there, but I believe that code has been introduced into R6.

In fact MrChaos it will remember the wing you were last on.

So if you actually set yourself to attack wing it will not change back to command wing.

When people tell me to switch to comm wing, I usually switch to delta to spite them.
