Im willing to give it this last chance, they now have all the stats parts working. If it fails this time, its going to fail major.

Question, would it be hostaging, to create a server, and only allow vets to join up a game? I.E. not letting #'d players join, and booting the elo quirks?

thinking hypothetically down the road, and expecting elo to have problems. with enough players, would it be a huge issue?

Going by Pook's RoC For Dummies (specifically the "everyone gets to play" section) then no, you can't. You may use the game features as provided but selecting who does and doesn't get to play on an open server by whim is not allowed.

It would be a very bad plan to try and box out new people from playing. It's anti-community, and it will foster ill will with people who have come into this game looking for some fun. On top of that, there's often not alot of newbies around, probably not enough to get a game of their own together. And even if they could, I'm sure they'd have more fun with everyone than on a server with 4 people. Besides that even, how do you expect a newbie to learn what is good and effective if you've blocked them from playing with the people who know what to do? This stuff isn't in our DNA - it has to be learned from those who know. Last, don't they need to play lots of games to raise their rank anyway?

So, in summary, your idea:

1) Encourages new players to leave the community, because you don't want them to take part in the big games.
2) Prevents the few new players who can stand to play on 3 or 4 person games from learning anything anyway.
3) Keeps them from gaining ranks because of limited game time.
4) All of which encourages them to again go elsewhere for fun.

Worst. Idea. Ever.

Why not just barrage any new people with a stream of obsenities when you see them? It would seem to be a much more effective method of destroying any new player's desire to return...

Well done Rushl, that's how I've felt about No Newbie servers for a long time. I see a place for them at some point in the future when we have a larger player base and more than 1 game happening around the clock. Until then preventing newbies from playing will kill this game, hence the no newbie boot rules and why commanders should accept newbies onto their teams (within reason of course).

uhh this is thinking post R3/ influx.

as of now, its unfeasible. when we have enough people to actively fill 2+ servers
then i would suggest this.

im not stupid, but i am prone to wishful thinking.

because we all kow that in every facet of life, someone BRAND new gets the same respect as a seasoned vet. Thats why the US military has decided to forego boot camp and training, deeming that it was unconstitutional to new recruits.

There needs to be a rank system for the noobs to show that they have completed the training .

say 2 ranks for all missions......

Do that once we have real training missions. IIRC, someone is working on them in Misc. Dev.

Such a wealth of anger seems a shoddy attempt to compensate for a poverty of skill.

This has been the Allegiance way since the game was released by Microsoft.
