He's talking about difficulty of making the tech path work, not that it's literally like that.

UB has a point; exp is by far the simplest tech path. You get the best dogfighting ships in the game; best at defense AND offense, which can easily boost 3 sectors to rape miners while the tech path makes it harder for your own miners to be raped. Of course it's the most popular, it's the most straight forward and simple.

A decent fig pilot should be able to handle an int if they're on the same tech level. Figs need gat, shield, missile, and GA upgrades to be good. An int just needs to be an int. Of course ints have the advantage. You need like another 15k to make figs be decent against them, and a lot of commanders just ignore that junk.

And I SINCERELY AGREE WITH HIM ON THIS: I would MUCH rather fly an SF or a fig than an int. AND I WONDER WHY THAT IS, IT'S NOT LIKE EVERY $#@!ING GAME REVOLVES AROUND EXP OR SOMETHING.
