I downloaded the Allegiance Lan server from the download page, got it setup and everything with only a few hitches. How do you set it to include other factions like the federation and technoflux, becuase mine is stuck on IC, Rix, belters, and bios. and how do you set up a deathmatch style game, where there's only one base, no development or constructors, and you start with at least one of each fighter at least, if not fully upgraded tech so we can just dogfight.

The factions are defined in the core file. That would be, for instance, cc_10.igc. You need that file on the server side and the client side AND you must include the core in the cores.txt file on the server (with the right core count on Line 1).

Death matches are chosen under the Game Settings button when you have Game Control.

You mentioned LAN server...
Do you mean the AllsrvSetupR5.exe? If so then you've got the right package.

If not, you might have an old one. I'd uninstall it and grab the installer from here: http://www.freeallegiance.org/downloads/Se...lsrvSetupR5.exe

The setup is quite simple. Simply run the installer and choose whether or not you want to run the server manually (by clicking its icon in your Start menu) or automatically (by starting/stopping a service in Windows' Services control panel)

After that, you can customize the settings used by AllSrv by editing its registry values:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Allegiance\1.0\Server]

Wow I just realized that our wiki article on the server is horribly outdated - the wiki is talking about installing an R3/R4 server.
Almost all of those manual steps are done automatically by the new R5 installer.

The only customization you'd need to do is the settings in the Server's registry keys, and optionally adding customized cores/maps by using the cores.txt and maps.txt files found in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Allegiance\Server\Artwork

Best of luck,
