Play against bios pilots who aren't noobs or voobs.

Oh wait, all but 1% of them have left.

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.

That was almost like poetry!

This will stay open through the weekend so tell your friends and family members to stop by and vote!
I'm sorry I don't remember any of it. For you the day spideycw graced your squad with utter destruction was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Sunday

My apologies.

You unmount it and eject it as soon as your energy has run out and/or you're in dogfighting range.

phoenix1 wrote:QUOTE (phoenix1 @ Jul 2 2010, 01:30 AM) There has been enough discussion both out here in the public and back in the CC office to determine this: Bios needs a nerf. That decision has ALREADY BEEN REACHED. That is why there is NO "no change" option.

Right now the discussion is "What is going to change?" It's like US politics, there is no "none of the above" option. Get over it, or start spending as much time posting in here about how the lack of a "no change" option isn't fair and start spending it at your local government complaining about the same damn thing.

Unless you live in some foreign country and your system works differently. In that case, cite the sources and explain the "none of the above" ballot option and we'll consider making an exception for you.

Most of us dont participate in these discussions and only show when the poll comes up. Now the idea is these changes are more transparent than before this core. Along with being a noble goal by the core team it's a really hard thing, ok pain in the ass, to manage . IF and I do mean in case of fact IF I got the intent right, that the community decides among a range of choices for new changes to the core. This seems to indicate to me that "leave it alone" is 100% valid. Maybe the community likes the unbalanced cheesey nature of things and no change is wanted by them. If its here is an intelligent list of items... even than *cues Hammer time mus..*  right right serious business  don't touch them seems to be a viable choice.... given the pants on the head nature of humanity at times.

Initially my rather weak plea was for exactly "leave it alone" but really after some thunking was that I wanted the comeback monster with cloaks on ints nature to not be lost. It was Das' post that pointed out many Bios changes were DN era and well Bios still was "the comeback monster with cloaks on ints". Im sympathitic to the "but where is my favorite idea in the poll to include poo fling monkey guns" paradox but you are asking people to participate in somethig they may think doesn't need fixing in the first place.... let them say "nah" what will it hurt? If 85% of the people are against it than at least it should trigger some more thought... trust me I know know know that many times the customer is wrong. If this gets things stirred it wasnt my attention and Ill expect a severe word from Xeretov and Spidey *shudder*

Food for Thought and Sincere Cheerful Wishes for the CC Team

edit: This is NOT me advocating adding things to the poll or changing anything about the direction of the Bios change. Just wanted to make sure we all understand it is simply a discussion point and nothing more on my part.

If you can't end a game after 2 hours, really, nobody deserves to win, and everyone involved should be ashamed of themselves, particularly if Bios is involved. Yes, i just said everyone should just play better, even though it did leave a bitter taste of almonds in my mouth. :P
+1

I love killing figs in ints- bios home sup is not unbeatable by any means.

Simply put MrC, there have been calls to change Bios for a long time now. The discussions over the past two weeks have been run with the purpose of determining what that change should be. Said discussion(s) raised many interesting and viable ideas and at least one of those should be put into action.

If we make a change then some people are going to whine about us being dictators but we get to see how Bios performs with the new balance.

If we don't change then some people are going to whine about how we aren't listening to them and we don't get to see how balanced Bios is.

As it stands, we're going to make a change because then we won't be wasting said weeks of discussion and will also get a feel for the different changes affect the faction. People whining is going to happen either way so we might as well get some real balancing done.

javaswiller wrote:QUOTE (javaswiller @ Jul 3 2010, 12:49 AM) Doesn't change the fact that energy was expended asking the community for its input, and the powers that be delete the input.

If you don't want input, if you don't care what the community actually thinks, don't ask for it.
Yeah we deleted the 8 page thread of discussion. Oh wait, no we didn't. We used it to come up with the options for this poll.

No, we've deleted the posts of people who instead come in here and moan about how much of a dictatorship this is because we're running a poll based on the feedback of a week+ of discussion. Posts like yours.

Idiot.

Edit: Furthermore you and several others who have been complaining incessantly about input seem to be forgetting what kind of input we are asking for: We want input on which of these changes you wish to see. We are not asking for whether there should be a change or not. I am amazed that this very simple difference appears so complicated to understand.

I have been complaining "incessantly"? Really, now? I have posted twice in this forum, both times on this thread. And you call that is incessantly?

Look, you asked me to come and offer input. I didn't just wander by and start "complaining". You (the developers) invited me, specifically, to come to this thread, specifically, and you said ... hey, this is important; you should vote and tell us what you think, because golly, we value your input. Meanwhile you are deleting. If you are doing that, specifically after asking us to do it, it would only stand to reason that you don't value what the community might offer, that you had already decided what you were going to do any way, through eight-pages of discussion (EDIT) that I didn't know about until you just told me, because, by golly, this was such an important thread that it didn't cross your mind to tell me about beforehand. (end EDIT)

Now, please don't waste any more of our time. My only criticism, idiot, is that you should either thicken your skin and stop deleting, or stop pretending like you care.
