Just curious as to what sort of gameplay style's people would be interested in that are not currently present.
Perks:
If I were to design one it would be a faction with high missile damage and tracking. Lower acceleration and higher top speed. It would have significantly faster miners with high mining speed and capacity. Their disadvantage would be a large decrease in Yield.
Concept: Thematically they would be strip miners. Stripping away all natural resources then moving on.
Starting Ships:
A Light Stealth Fighter as well as scout.
Special Tech:
A seismic resonator to destroy all asteroids in a sector.
What sort of things would others create?
If you were to design a faction
Actually, you thought up a faction that currently exists. It's called Dreg.

All in all you are a very dying race // Placing trust upon a cruel world. // You never had the things you thought you should have had //
And you'll not get them now, // And all the while in perfect time // Your tears are falling on the ground. -- Squonk, Genesis
I suppose the missiles and speed are similar, but dreg is kinda the antithesis of strip-mining. I just thought a Light Stealth Fighter as a starting craft fit a group that had an emphasis on fast outward expansion without looking back while ruining all economies. This was intended more to ask others what they were interested in, but I suppose I will emphasize mine because nobody else has ideas.Seymor wrote:QUOTE (Seymor @ Jun 16 2010, 12:19 AM) Actually, you thought up a faction that currently exists. Miner Capacity: 2 | He3 Speed: 2 | He3 Yield: .65 | Dev Costs: .8 | Research Time: 90 sec
Station Stats: .9 (all of them)
Speed: 1.3 | Acceleration: .85 | Turn Torque: 1.15 | Hull: .9 | Shield: .9 | Signature: 1.2 | Energy: .8 | Ripcord Time: .9
PW Range: .9 | PW Damage: .9 | EW Range: .9 | Missile Track: 1.2 | Missile Damage: 1.3
Ints get access to Seeker-missiles and Quickfire. Heavy ints can get a weak version of emp anti-base missiles, but can only fit 1 at a time.
Miners have a base speed of 110 (143 with bonus) or 130 for Enhanced Miner (169 with bonus). This makes it actually possible to get in quickly to a contested sector, strip mine it, then get out of there.
Why do you want another dreg? >.>
EDIT: My logic is. You said it was an inverse, no? Adding and subtraction are inverses, yet essentially the same thing.

A hero is not one who never falls, but one who gets up again and again, NEVER losing sight of one's dream!

I would make a faction that only mounts disruptors.
