That's out of my scope. Changing the default wing to command is easy, changing it to the registry is a fair bit of work.

Anyone who's not paying enough attention to change their wing at the beginning of the game isn't going to be paying enough attention to make good use of seeing con and miner orders. And since they're not paying full attention to their situation, I'd at least prefer it if I don't have to worry about con orders scrolling useful chat info off their screens before I start spamming ~yy.

The problem isn't that they weren't on command wing, it's that they were touching the cons in the first place.

If they had had enough experience (they were good enough) to control the cons, they would already have known that they had been planted so wouldn't have touched them. It's kinda like catch 22:
If they are a bad/new player and don't know the con has been ordered to build, they shouldn't order it about.
If they are a good player they know the con has been ordered to build, so they know not to touch it.

Now, if it's new player then you tell them after the first time they touch the con to not do it again in future - addressing them by name, pming them, `yy them - something they are far more likley to notice and interprit correctly than the flood of command chat and associate the constructor??? build order they saw a few mins ago as relating to this outputsconstructor345 they are looking at. (which I believe applies here)

If it's a good player who is moving it then either they are a voob then you tell them no to do it, they are a reasonable player and just made mistake - tell them they did, or they are a good player who saw the con was gonig to die if it kept going and told it to build on the closest rock (in which case they did the right thing and you need to pay attention to your cons).

Honestly the amount of resistance to change is $#@!ing ridiculous. All that's being suggested here is everyone has one less click to make every game, it's an obvious improvement with no flaws. If you want to be on $#@!ing search wing that's your business, I personally get $#@!ing tired of having to tell every $#@!ing newbie how to change wing and which one to be.

Well if my offer to actually GET SOME USEFUL CODING DONE isn't wanted, I'm happy not to waste my time. Personally, I agree with changing it for a separate reason:

When I join a game partway through, often I will launch immediately to be useful if I know what needs to be done, and forget about changing my wing. As a result, I don't see con/miner orders and when it comes time to push a con/move a miner, I have no idea where its going to scout ahead because I forgot to change my wing.

Shouldn't be a huge amount of work really. The code is already written for all sorts of things Alleg. saves to the registry. You would just need to copy what is there for other settings and and change it for your purpose (off a guess)

I'm not saying I can't do it, I just fail to see the advantage. Command wing is important because everyone needs it to see drone orders, and in my experience the other wings are used temporarily for special cases. I'll look into it after I switch the default to command.

Could we relay all interesting info to the attack wing (The same way this has been done for escort wing)?

Possibly. I'll report more once I actually get started on the code. Currently, I can't install the devtools yet. But I thought the point of attack wing was to hide that information, so its just making attack wing one more chat group like charlie/delta/echo.
