-I remember when comms weren't chatting in bold
-When people realized that you could chat in colors and everyone used colors.
-Regularly playing with TKELA and rib'ski and thinking they were just normal vets
-Having a SOLAP's big game and wondering who solap was
-Having no tp2, no aleph res, no ab3, giga "special refs"for 10k, but no researchs, giga outposts that were $2500, but could be destroyed by a single AB2 missile.
-Killing my pods on asteroids/bases
-You had to place the drone and mine layers manually
-Seeing JIHAAD win every single squad game untill XT managed to beat them after like 42 wins.
-All the players who are gone... galaxygirl,santiger,hertson,reddog,goncourt,white_drgn,etc
-Having to wait in the lobby to get a seat in a 90 player zone game that filled up in seconds.
-Playing zone games and knowing that the outcome had a little impact on the storyline.
-I remember the time where the game was split into 2 parts: pre-sy and post-sy.
- When nanite trains weren't common.
-I also remember when kevdude was seen as a god. He was a good player, but he was much better at point whoring. He was a bomber/cuiser whore when killing bases gave the most points and switched to int whoring after.
-I miss the zone chats, there were always people to talk to there or newbies/ futur players who wanted info on the game.
- I also got my 1st boot from Gemini, He asked everyone to jump into scouts, and it took me a bit too long to figure out why my "scout" was only going at 90 mps.
-I remember the time when many were thinking that IC tac was stupid because of the high sig.
-Miners and constructors that didn't rip.
-Pods with unlimited o2
-You had to hold "r" to ripcord, if by mistake, you stopped holding for half a second 2 secs before ripping, you had to start over
-I remember when we actually had to use sovroute to play games, without that prog, alleg might have died at a time.

i remember kevdude could spot a noob from across the sector and pod them, then scurry back to the base.
don't recall what his dad's handle was.

i remember frag being one of the best bomber pilots. he probably still is.

i remember nakppi being the terror of allegiance, everyone wanted to pod him first and win second.

i remember playing early mornings, and the few players that were on wanted to be
on lakeland's team becouse he always researched bombers right away and bombed
the noob comm's bases. then people figured him out and he didn't win as many times.
i've had a few drinks so bear with me on my bad grammer.

i can't remember all the names from 2000-2002 so it's fun reading other posts and seeing the
names come up....

the saturday night zone games were the best. i hope we can get this community back to
those levels and then some.

Jihaad holds a special place in my memory, but those fruitcakes from MoM were more my type of guys.

i wish we could get enough of the classics to put one of the true old squads that have disappeared back together.

specifically jihaad, then all these whiners about XT and the other whores would actually learn what its like to get whored on.

there are times I wish we could have jihaad for 1 day, just to shock people into how good the nuubs and voobs here REALLY have it.

That was Bishop6... Haven't seen him in years...

Riding in a cruiser across a large map, and noticing that we had built up speed to about 350mps by the time we reached our destination.

Podding Geminii over and over as he tried to sneak out of his home sector with a Devestator, and just eating him alive with the cluster rockets (forget what they were called, launched like 5 or 10 at a time).

Methinks Thalgor needs to play more.
