with R3 in the final stages of removing bugs, and nearing the "lets do a general release and see if anything pops up the beta tests didn't catch"
i feel its time to get all excited and ask what can we expect in R4
as i understand it, R3 has all the under the hood changes... so can we expect some lesser technical changes, and some sweet changes that add more functionality / fix some things mentioned in bugzilla.
< hmm badly phrased^^ >
but yeah, what can we expect to be in R4? (and are we open to suggestions right now)
R4

Yeah, if FAZ would work with branches and such then the developement for R4 would begin as soon as a feature freeze for R3 is proclaimed.
(but as far as I know that is not how the FAZ Developement is handled right now)
Edit: I was not insinuating that MadP would not be aware of this :-)

@RT: "We've never been whores, we are misunderstood RTists."
re-read first post, i understand that too /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
but when we set out making R2, we knew R3 would have the net code in.
were in R3 now, so i assume the devs have some idea of what cool stuff is going in R4, and i want to know too /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

There are patches already pending inclusion into R4 that have been completed by some devs, and there are other devs who are working on things that won't be included in R3... maybe R4? or R5? Who knows.
There's nothing stopping anyone from coding up a feature to be included in some future release. If approved by the big dog, chances are it'll make it into the upcoming release, but if not it'll be delayed until the next one.
If you code it, it will be used.

right, so R4 has
well, what "patches" are already coded?
do we know what the "things" the other devs are working on?
lol, i expected just to get a nice
we already have these cool things, and were thinking of doing this too...
and anything else that just happens to be floating around /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />Tigereye wrote:QUOTE (Tigereye @ Nov 14 2006, 02:15 AM) ... patches ... and... things ... Who knows.
