10 Years ago people struggled to communicate - data lines, sensor technology, and controls were slow so Space battles were a more laggy affair....

A series of eventsare still going out to celebrate the fact we have survived 10 years out here in space. Check out the latest news console for more details. So far we have learnt that technology from the start of the times out here were seriously unbalanced. And people often boost too much. A revival in phoenix also appeared to occur with people playing with old defunct technologies.
The community of pilots has a fascinating history, full of drama, trauma, rifts and change of leadership/administrator. Surviving bad April fools jokes, pressure on admins, and events only referred to darkly now as happening on Black Friday. Surviving alone out here with no support has been hard - but successful. And the community is still here.
Ten Years of war. Ten years of battles. Lets hope and pray we can continue surviving out here on the rim for another 10 years!

There are rumours of an alien race moving about out there, Deep probe scouts have come back talking of wild stories with strange looking ships flying in. Insectoid creatures have been rumoured to be flying these ships - with panicked talk of of a fleet hitting the outer rim in the next few weeks. Be careful out there guys....Live transmission of a battle on the outer rim was carried out and available on all stations for the first time ever at the weekend. The Hack watched from the local bar, and found himself excited by all the possibilities, but also faintly amused by the abuse some people give to their boosters.....Development of the new spaceship flying software in the Dev. Zone appears to have hit a few hiccups, as Cortex, the leader of the effort, appears to have left his role due to the associated pressures. A meeting in the Bar and Grill hoping to get things moving predictably turned to a lot of finger pointing etc. Progress appears to be slow at the moment.In yet more news there is a different team of developers trying to design and create ground-based technology so the factions can try and compete planet-side in the near future. Be sure to check those guys out....-------------This just in----------------All mainline ships will be grounded tonight for a few hours for desparately needed maintenance. To allow pilots to get off the ground they can try the beta equipment-------------------

The System X has appeared to have had a leadership change. With the Hypnobrood managing to evade all the spytraps and surveillance left by the CIA's Jack Ryan, he appears to have seized power over the whole squad, rumours that arachnid legs were involved remain unconfirmed (as do rumours that the eight-legged one was unhappy with the Nuclear option). The change doesn't appear to have affected their performance in battle though as they soundly beat Black Shadow at the weekend.PK have also jumped on the leadership merry-go-round, with Aeris handing over too SaiSoma for an interim period before a transition to SaxyThe Borg appear to have lost some pilots recently, and are suffering turnout issues, hence they left their battle with PK uncontested. It's sad to see a proud squad who have been there from the start in their current state....SRM only appear to have gone for more ASLs rather than the full leadership change, but this appears not to have saved them from defeat at the hands of Rolling Thunder.SF were defeated by a resurgent ACE. ACE were not predicted to do much in this league by *ahem* some commentators, but they are equal top of the minor sectors table, and with battles to come 'in hand' - i.e. they are guaranteed to be in the lead soon provided they turn out for their battles.
