I already uninstalled and won't be flying again but I'd just like to part by saying that psych, we didn't lose because I ripped. We lost because you suck at commanding and you must have been too busy f***ing a goat to pay attention to the fact that the other team was handing you your ass.

"Even if he did somehow manage to stick around, he would've ended up like Adept, a fate I wouldn't wish on anyone. So it's for the best, really."

I know that this is just good trolling fun, right?
If I ever achieve Adept's level of knowledge, sportsmanship and helpfulness; I will be happy indeed.

I just read the above post. Just another oversensitive noob. Another idiot. Who cares?
I care.

Newbie boot protection is dead.

Sorry to see you go, magilla. You had promise. :-) Just remember that pretty much every member of this community, at one time or another in their career, has been booted for ripping a regular scout to an SR scout. Sometimes you make a genuine mistake. Other times the comm is being an ass. Or, in situations like the above, both at the same time. Just let it go. No one will remember in 24 hours later, unless there's a forum fight about it.

edit: i was paying attention, thats why i booted you, when the margin for victory is slim, everyone wasting space must go

I never truly realized that since I got bumped to a 5 in like 20 games, but you are right and it really shouldn't be.
I hope that once you cool off you'll rethink your decision Magilla, I really do.

the problem is that AS does not give newbies points for playing and losing, so they stay #'s until they figure it out or get lucky

Are @AFS / @CDT / @SQUAD (#) Newbies not boot protected? Can somebody with wisdom clarify that?

I don't want to get too hung up on the letter of the law here -- even though the rule was clearly violated in this case: you can't boot (4)s for sucking, only for intentionally disruptive behavior.

More important is the spirit of the rule. If I were enforcement, I might be convinced to look the other way if the person was a well-known, 250-hour permanewb. Magilla has played less than 25 hours over the course of three weeks. The whole point of newbie boot protection is to protect folks like him, to give him a grace period where he is allowed to make mistakes.

The playerbase has been in decline for a long while. If you want to keep this game going, you're going to have to be nice to newbies. And not in the abstract. You have to be nice to them as they actually ruin your game with their newbieness.

Personally when I comm, I won't boot 5s and 6s unless I've seen them around long enough to know they should know better.

Rank 4 and under are suposed to be protected from being booted from a game unless the break the posted rules.
Myself and BV don't always have time to troll the forums looking for posts like this.
If a newbie is unjustifiably booted they need to PM BV and myself or report it to an @Alleg or Zone Lead who should pass the info onto us.

As admitted by Psychosis, the game was already lost. Unless I am mistaken the noewbie boot was out of frustration. Psychosis should know better and should know he is supposed to report these types of incidents to BV and I with an explanation. I can't speak for BV but I didn't recieve a PM from anyone on this issue until today.

Psychosis please see my PM
