Ah. The main game is of course the best place to learn proper tactics. This is a call to arms for those of us who wants to try out commanding and / or try out that cool move you have been thinking of but will give you a bucket full of criticism if you do it in a “real” game.
How large is the probability for me to command a real game? Very small! I have no rep and should not do it until I have some skills for that. How shall I acquire that skill?
The obvious answer is the newbie server! Here you can try out commanding and here you can freely try out all those different tactics you are thinking of but are avoiding, since this is not the way “we” do it in Allegiance. Wanna try out a Armada move? Wanna try out to organize in miner O, miner D and what not? Wanna try that cool opening move where almost all jump in to a basic fighter and rush the enemy? The newbie server is the answer!
I love scouting and the occasional fighter / interceptor dogfight. But I want to try out the whole spectrum, and that done in a way that does not destroy the game for more experienced players.
I have been tutored by very helpful players. 99 times out of 100 we end up being 3-5 players and it is all against all in DM. That has its place for basic skills in dogfighting but is such a small part of the game. Can also become rather dull and boring…
Catch 22. Cant command until I got the skills and since I don’t have the skills I wont be allowed to command, lead the taskforce for OP hunt and so on…
The newbie server wants your sorry ass if you are level 4 or lower (should be corrected?) and that in order to be better at the game. And have fun god damn it!
When can you be available for the server? The server is there for you!
