The Hack remembers once upon a time picking up a brochure for holiday appartments by the Martian Sea. It had a beautiful front cover, with images of beautiful women in tiny bikinis, surrounded by heart-warming scenes of children playing in blue, blue water.
The Hack is not ashamed to say that this heartwarming scene brought a tear to his eye, as the closest The Hack got to a holiday when he was young was when his Weird Uncle Hack took him out to the woods for his "special time".

Before The Hack realised what he was doing, he found himself the proud owner of 5 minutes each year in a wooden holiday shack by the sea. If he can ever get to that side of Mars that is.
This whole episode served to prove to The Hack the importance of a first impression, and how that can influence a whole behaviour. In this vein The Hack would like to applaud the administrations efforts to improve the Front Page of the space fleets portal in the hope that it can attract new pilots for great justice.

There are several factions competing for the great prize of representing the space fleets greatness. Put forward in the initial vote to all pilots were the Porcine pageand the AEM page (or to leave it with that fuddy-duddy old page). TE (in his infinite wisdom) appears to have discounted other offerings by the fuzzy one, and the currently work in progress Dor-con offering......
Hopefully these offerings will be considered in due process....

Needless to say The Hack would like to buy a drink for all these intrepid developers, who work without pay and brave the fiercest criticism in order to improve the entrance to the space lanes for many.......

Quote Of The Week
spideycw wrote:QUOTE (spideycw @ Feb 9 2010, 08:35 PM) doing something outrageously stupid in the hopes it shocks your opponent with its stupidity is not a "tactic"

News In Brief
SRM vs. GB. GB win through early pressure and a fairly insane-sounding IC expansion strategy by SRM. Bouwman attempts to prove Heisenbergs uncertainty principle, by showing that Observing a battle means you change it's course....(have I got that right)?
PK vs SysX - followed the pattern of all recent games between these sides. IB killed some miners, sysx won (I actually wrote this bit a week last tuesday)
RT versus SF- RT win through judicious int-bombing. Striker blames lag.
XT versus BS - XT win through early pressure and judicious use of Cap Ships. I'm saying nothing about Him.
ACE - had the oppurtunity for some herbal tea, and a chat with the nurse about how all this used to be fields as they had no game this week.....

STOP PRESS!
The Hack has heard rumours of large scale battles shaping up in the near future. Forces are mobilizing for battles over whole Zones of space. Watch out for futher details...the Zone Games are returning.

I see The Hack's reputation has spread far and wide.

And I've also been told that people have beentrying to work outThe Hack's true identity.

The truth is The Hack's identity will nevah be revealed! As without the mask of anonymity he would no longer be able to stick it to the man. (This anonymity has nothing to do with the rumours of unpaid bar bills at a variety of venues across the stars. Oh no.....)

Methinks Sai is just trolling for a bribe to keep mum.

Speaking of which, I hear Brood's is available.
