I don't know about you guys, but I've seen LOTS of new players lately . and it seems I keep seeing those nics:). Great work @HELP and @ALLEG and EVERYONE! We'll hook 'em, you guys bring 'em in and hold 'em!
So it's time for reviews and such on other sites!
I have many many feelers out to major sites and have a hit or two, but need help. If you know (or work with) any gaming companies that do reviews, PLEASE have them, if possible, do something on Alleg.
At minimum, see if they will pick our press release concerning the Tenth Anniversary Celebrations (TAC) (should be done by the end of the week) and run it in a news feed on their site. If you have any gaming industry contacts, please use them.
Also, if you do any of the above, please let me know? Marketing is trying to keep track of our efforts, at least in some form or fashion:).
Marketing Plan
I somehow missed this thread from December. I highly doubt you could get a show on XM radio right now. They stopped catering to the small niche groups a long time ago and are more main stream now.
Unless the show was more about general gaming than Allegiance, I just don't see it getting picked up. You would have a better chance at a radio version of Revision3 if you wanted to do something of that nature.

Will there also be a press release in languages other than English? I know a German magazine (c't) which IMHO would be a good target for such a release, and if you have a German version you can also send it out to the rest of German magazines.SaiSoma wrote:QUOTE (SaiSoma @ Feb 3 2010, 03:47 AM) At minimum, see if they will pick our press release concerning the Tenth Anniversary Celebrations (TAC) (should be done by the end of the week) and run it in a news feed on their site. If you need someone to translate it I can offer my help.
By the way, I am still interested in supporting the marketing team but I have problems contacting you directly. I am not (yet?) allowed to send PMs...

I actually got Allegiance from the heise.de dowload page. But I was talking about an article in heise newsticker or even in the printed edition. This would have much more impact.pkk wrote:QUOTE (pkk @ Feb 3 2010, 10:26 AM) http://www.heise.de/software/download/freeallegiance/55018

But as you mention it, perhaps everyone with an account on the heise page could vote for Allegiance to increase the ranking.
Thanks for the linkt to the article. Was there a press release from the Allegiance team?

Nope, I luckily noticed it on their website and brought the magazine. There was no tip from the community (as far I know).Tannar wrote:QUOTE (Tannar @ Feb 3 2010, 10:42 AM) Thanks for the linkt to the article. Was there a press release from the Allegiance team?

I meant was there any press release by the Allegiance community that this article is based on?pkk wrote:QUOTE (pkk @ Feb 3 2010, 11:24 AM) Nope, I luckily noticed it on their website and brought the magazine. There was no tip from the community (as far I know).
In my experience some (especially smaller) articles are in fact based on press releases sent out by the publisher of the game (or rather their PR people). This is why press releases are rather important. And this is also the reason why a good press release looks not all too different from a small article: less work for the journalist to make it into one.
