It's one of the more annoying errors as basically it translates to "something is wrong".

It could be a corrupt file or something new with your hardware/software.

Try update/repair critical files under help in ASGS

If that doesn't work and you don't have any mods and you haven't done anything new then a reinstall might fix it. Before you do uninstall and reinstall make sure to copy your inputmap1.mdl file found in the artwork folder (C:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Allegiance/Artwork) as this contains your custom key bindings which are a pain to reconfigure and put the file back once you reinstall.

Also you could try downloading the new ASGS client found HERE

Any recent changes with voice chats? Every now and then there's an update within Allegiance and you have to re-extract your extra chat packs.

If you really don't give a crap reinstalling usually fixes it.

EDIT:
Reinstalling Alleg not Windows no need to go all out  .

Uninstall/Reinstall, lengthy, but usually a good fix

thanks for the input guys;.. but i went ahead and reinstalled as i found the allegiance setup icon and found that i was somehow missing the c++ runtime(?) which i guessed fixed my problem. i must have deleted it out when i ran a CCleaner
yeah a CCleaner... to many options and advanced options;.. i just let it run. will pay more careful attention next time.

Problem fixed then?

Be careful with these reg cleaners - they are insanely powerful and can break your system as efficiently as they can fix it.
