Hello everyone,

It has been well over 2 years since i last played FreeAllegiance. Needless to say Im A BIT rusty.
What would you suggest to someone who was quite far into the game, but needs a good deal of refreshment ?

Should I make new account and go through the cadet program again ?
Or should I just start to play taking only the less demanding tasks, flying scouts etc. ?

Anyway Im happy to be back, just downloading the game again and reading myself back into it.

Hope to see you in space soon.

See the learning guide..

My advice -
Read up on CDT I- which is now hosted on the wiki, as the wiki was considered a suitable replacement for the old Academy website.

Then Sign up for the more Advanced CDT-II. If you have more than a few months playing time previously you will be accepted, and you will learn more from that if you have the basics down pat...

Thanks for the quick reply.

I am reading through the CDT-I at the moment. Moving it to wiki platform was a great idea. I enjoy it.
I dont remember having CDT-II when I was last playing, but that might be just my memory. Ill look into it for sure.

np on quick reply, I'm a forum whore....

Once (before my time on FAO) the CDT course was a single course.

It has since been split into two so that CDT-I could concentrate on the basics while players were very new, and CDT-II was for more advanced tactics and topics.

CDT-II also makes you more visible to squads if that's you thing....

Well, if I could only launch the game.

The in game autoupdate is not going corectly. It went all well (so connection is ok), but stopped at missionbrief.mdl
This file cannot be autoupdated :(. Is there a way to manually update, or get the newest package as one zip file ?

Ive been reading the TechHelp, but no luck there :(

I placed my issue there : http://www.freeallegiance.org/forums/index...t=0#entry424696

Looks like it will take some time to get in this way, so maybe someone can point me to another server that I could connect ?
Is there at all a way to connect to another server ? I remember having the option from my previous playing times.
Will the ASCS be used for that ?
