It comes down to - what vet wants to join a squad thats not going to play squad games? I tried that, it didnt end up going well.

So vortrog, I nominate YOU to be the first one. Then when you dont play SG's for a month or two, you can come back and tell me this is a great idea!

Well, I did it for SPQR (like you have) once, so I dont mind doing it again. As this would require 3 mercs to help coach and play, I reckon they could get the numbers for games.

Rotation would work if the community wanted SPQR to succeed, but current opinion that I'm gathering is contrary to such belief. Hell, if me helping with trainings would revive SPQR I'd gladly go for it, it just boils down to a matter of do enough people(excluding sporks) want SPQR to stay and are willing to help it.

Why on earth would multiple vets volunteer to help a squad with TEN active members?

less then ten. I know for a fact two of the 'active' members don't even play squad games.

Damn... I guess it really depends on how much the community is willing to give for SPQR.

Well... if they don't recruit is nonsense to even keep this post up... the problem is if they really recruit 15 CDTs, that they can train them propperly, for that, I think they can ASK to play with other squads away from the tournament matchs, for learning purposes.

So the order of events should be:

1.- Organize, recruit, get at least 10 new pilots (train in the meantime).
2.- When you got the number, bother other squads to play with you and train together.
3.- We shall see...

I wonder, If everyone who was EVER in SPQR, mainly the 1st wave of recruits who helped Andon form SPQR, were still in SPQR, and active, would they be any better?
Hsharp
Para/Kistune
Spawn
Dawife
Andon
All come to mind.

Gui tried but really needed 5 active vets to help him and I salute Gui for the attempt.

But at this point, with shrinking numbers, why we need 11 squads?

Cheezits, Is it worth fighting for 2 or 3 years to try and make Spqr competitive? Or should you just throw in the towel like so many other squads who had a much better record and standing. Hell if disbanding was good enough for Jihaad it should be good enough for spqr

ratak and other talk about training new recruits. Who on the roster is going to train these new recruits? TheFuzz? Cheezits?

LOL

And BTW, I don't think that 4 - 5 ppl not supporting SPQR is the whole community, not matter how uber they are.

Because it IS shrinking... Most squads, not only SPQR, you need to change that to keep the community alive and fresh.
