I've got the 'failed to connect to lobby' thingy

Modem: NetComm NB1300 Ethernet/USB ADSL Modem Router
Router: D-Link DI-624 Xtreme G 2.4Ghz Wireless Router
Internet Service Provider: iPrimus
Location: Perth, Western Australia, Australia

Problem Encountered at Step: 9
Which Program: Allegiance
What Error Message: Failed to connect to Lobby.

I've tried everything I can understand - the D-Link router has been configured to allow the 2300-2400, 47624 and 80 ports. The modem has only a Port Forwarding option, and it's rather limited, I can't choose a range of ports. So I tried the solution where you open 2300 and 2301, and use the DXport program. Still doesn't work. I'm going mad.

Hmm,

You have to program your modem to forward ports to your router's IP (which is displayed as your gateway address on your computer) and the router has to forward them to your computer.

Double check that you have DXPort enabled, and that both TCP and UDP ports have been forwarded on both devices.

Post screenshots of the port forwarding screens here, if possible.

Here is the netcomm port forwarding screen:

13-16 should be forwarding those ports to the wireless router, which is at 192.168.0.1 .

I'm not sure exactly what I need to configure in the router, but so far I have this -

You shouldnt have both port triggering and port forwarding enabled at the same time.

Hmm, on second thought, maybe have the modem forward the ports to your computer as well? I'm suddenly stumped. Wait for Grimmwolf to make an appearance. /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

I don't really know but seems to me if you have 47624 as the trigger port you are gonna need to forward it to the router as well. Otherwise it wouldn't get there to do any triggering.

On the middle picture you posted instead of your allegiance rule just enable microsoft gaming zone which uses the same ports as allegiance, or use it as an example to make your own rule. I am not sure if you should have 47624 twice in it as both port trigger and port forwarded. Also 47624 is outgoing only so i do not think it needs to be opened.

Also i am not sure about this setup but shouldn't you forward the ports in the modem to your computer's ip rather then the router's ip since the application is not running on the router itself?

Trigger port is an outgoing connection that enables the incoming port forward. No need to have it forwared.

My suggestion is to keep it simple.

Forward the Modem Ports to the Router (Which it looks like you have done)
Forward the Router Ports to the PC (I don't see this ... this is probably in Firewall)
Turn off ALL Port Triggering ... I don't trust it in situations like this. (Also not done)
The run DXPort
Then start Alleg.

I think of it this way ... You need to build a path for the packets to come in ports 2300 and 2301 ... So we just need to connect the dots.
