Maybe not for you to see. But everyone else is reading this, yo.Buyo wrote:QUOTE (Buyo @ Jun 17 2009, 05:42 PM) Woaaaaa woaaaaa, haha chill there, not insulting or trying to make less your or anyone else ranking system, it doesn't matter to me if alleg skill or trueskill or whateverskill is used by the whole world, I was just saying what I think, no need to write the whole thing for me to see, I read the wiki and stuff, I wasn't saying it's BAD either, I was just saying what I think about my people from my squad in relation with the system we use to rate, do I think it's good? well looks good to me, do I think it's the ULTIMATE ranker? no, because well... I don't know I think it doesn't take into account many things but it's still good.
Jeez, you people looking into drama eh, I guess I'll just stop![]()
Oh and by the way, yes Brood > H_mallow.
With allegskill...

I would like to point out that Allegskill is bound by the same limitations of any other ranking system in Alleg. It does not rank an individual based on skill, it merely ranks an individual on "Chance to Win".
There are great commanders out there who have (relatively) low command rank, but a lot higher command skill as compared to the top tiered. Why? Because the big names crowd the top of the command rank because they pull better teams, making them more likely to win.
Skill has nothing to do with Allegskill. Only likelihood to win.

Now if you read my small post properly (Better Term: Correctly) you would see that I elaborated on your post with my particular opinion. I did not directly contradict it.sgt_baker wrote:QUOTE (sgt_baker @ Jun 17 2009, 01:14 PM) Read my long post properly.
I don't need anyone or anything to affirm my skill, especially your mathematical splurge joy. I am a top grade pilot and commander, and that is a fact.MrChaos wrote:QUOTE (MrChaos @ Jun 17 2009, 01:16 PM) *sigh*
Here we go again. There is just no amount of proof for a young gamer's ego when he isn't considered L33T by the game's ranking system.

Has anybody involved with the Ranking development ever considered using some or most of what MS originally did with AZ rankings? It was based purely on individual statistics. I know there are a lot of people who want to involve wins and losses and hair color or whatever else it is your basing these ranks on. But, in my opinion the best way to rank individuals is by their own stats.
Yes it leaves out people who like to scout (H_Mallow has been mentioned a lot here and deservedly so) so maybe concentrate on developing more recorded statistics based on support activities. It seems like all this hard work is going into mega-complicated math when it might ultimately be going in the wrong direction.
Just my 2 cents, don't want to put down Baker's hard work because I know he has good intentions and has innovated greatly with the stack rating. Though I did read what you posted Baker about your system not being 100% implemented. So I guess my other question is: When your stats system is 100% implemented, do you see a big change to the leaderboard?

By the way mallow, don't get me wrong I think you are good too, I just think brood is a little better because he seems to aim better which is like the base skill for alleg, but I do think you are awesome, how to forget those times I followed you on your tf scout to kill miners

Make Allegiance Great Again
