The thing is i actually had 2 lessons from you. First one was about a month ago when it was a fast miner D situation and i jumped out in a belter fig without a nan. Miner died and you basicly said "dude, you didnt take nan?. OMG. thats just great" nothing else. I never got out in anything belter without a nan anymore, i even put it on stlths. Second one is to not defend teles in a scout when we dont have supporting tech. But it escalated to what it was in that post.

What i'm trying to say here is that i'm offering my hand to anyone i might have offended in the last week. Its just i have a hard time swallowing stomping over the head (RL issue too). Always had, always will and it will never be a option to approach me. Just please dont mistake this post that i approve of certain intruction metods as i already stated before. I'm just tap on the back, get on ts, get on private serv and have a beer type of guy.

I've had problems with admins in the past. In particular Pook and Tiger. However, hind sight is 20/20 and I realized they usually dealt with me fairly. Judging admins when your in the emotion of a situation skews reason. I feel that deleting posts and silencing people in the better of the community is very valid. My posts have been deleting many times, both at my request and because Pook thought it was best on his own. The silencing of me at times and others is only for the good of the community, not an attack on the person being silenced.

There is no "two camps" going on here. There is a few disgruntled players stirring the pot. I just want to play Allegiance and am thankfull for the pooks, tigers and BV.

If you don't like thier admin style, please leave so we can play Allegiance in peace. Your welcome to start your own Allegiance community.

Every single forum administrator deletes posts and locks threads that they deem are off-topic or detrimental to the health of the forum.

It's par for the course. Without that, the forum inevitable degenerates into a crappy place to be.

You can't split hairs with the administration. It doesn't work. People are different, have different viewpoints. Unless they are GROSSLY out of line (and they are not, they never were - claiming otherwise amounts to ignoring common sense), you have to accept they are the admins, and you are not.

i dont think you understand what i am doing.

i am fixing an image, and dispelling a myth. making the communitty a nicer place.

for a very long time XT has had an image of the asshat squad, as shiz said, this is not true. it may have had some, but XT didn't condone it.

whether they were or not didn't matter, they had an image, and thats what counts.

to explain what i am talking about, I'm going to refer you to the spammer image.
pook placed the spammer image on me with a spammer tag, some people believed i was based on the fact i had the tag.
however, i remained quite popular in the community,
new people coming in saw some of my popularity, and also saw the spammer image. they wanted the popularity, and decided they wanted to try and get that image.
for some people, i made spamming cool. (remember golddragon ?)
of course, it worked out badly for them when they deliberately spammed.

now, the same thing happened with XT
they were regarded as the whore squad, quite a strong squad with good players. many players highly respected as players (see my popularity). the also had an image as asshats.

new people (not all) who don't know the community too well will take the first things they hear and believe they are true.
i had people in game asking me what its like to be the best pilot in allegiance after this poll.
if a new person saw spunky post that A+ is the best and most played core, they will believe them.
if that new person had seen yanlin post that ms1.1 was played more, the new person would post saying, "hang on i was told that 1.1 was the best core"
they do this because they dont have experience or knowledge of the community.

they see the respect some people in XT get, and want to get the same respect and skill.
so they ask someone "what do i have to do to get in XT"
now, the person they ask doesn't really like XT, and they say "you have to be an asshat, noob beater, and boot people randomly for fun when you comm"
the new person may not believe everything said, but will then think they do need to do a little bit of that.
eventually they do work on their asshat image, and then, allegiance has one more asshat, just because of what they saw on the forums, or on fox or on magazines where people are airbrushed and they want to look like them...

ok, not everyone is effected in the same way as posted above, but some people are.

whether xt are asshats or not does not come into it, some people have given them that image.
it is that image i am trying to fix.

what i was looking for posting about xt was to get a post saying "xt does not condone asshattery, we are not the asshat squad"

well, this is what i got:

XT, to my knowledge never has been for the asshat image as a whole. There are members who pursue it, and as long as it doesn't do any serious harm everyone else in the squad doesn't care. We don't constrain our members over minor things like other squads do, and that's probebly what gives off the image.

i am trying to make the community a nicer place. i am not trying to insult anyone or and squad, i ma not trying to stir the pot or fan the embers.

i am trying to see if i can make some images more representative of what they really are, not what various myths and rumor have made them.

some people have given XT an image of asshats
i like quite a few members of XT, and i wouldn't count them as asshats
i am trying to fix their image by dispelling myths, so that new people may not get swayed by that which is not true.

sometimes locking threads is necessary.
i don't like totally silencing people, do advocate the right to speak and freedom of speech.
that's why i partly agreed that some of the thread locking going on was a bit over the top, and some deletions were unnecessary. (i did dis-agree about the insulting the admins, it wasn't the way to go about voicing your thoughts, and it wouldn't achieve anything productive)

now, for the

i both agree and dis-agree with this
yes, they own the servers and can do whatever they want, and we have no right to complain
but, they cant go around doing what they want, its just not [n]nice[/b], and i feel people should have a right to complain and criticize.

ok, we have truth (yes) vs opinion (but), so technically truth overrides opinion, so i have come up with this:

the admins can do what they want; however, if what they want is to have a nice community, they must;
listen to criticisms, let people speak out against them (within reason) and not abuse power.
