PK puts op 7, tp 2 (I think)SF build op short in 8, and take tp low to tac rock in 4SF Bag 3 of our opening miners. Complaints about lag on GPZ ensue.SF rip a tac into 4SF push a tp to 5The only exp rocks are in 5, 9 and 10, so we buy a tac and put it 2We lose a miner, SF loses 2?ishWe get bombers up, and bomb the tp in 8SF rip an exp into 5We mine out 1 and 3 with 1 miner, while SF do the same in 8 and 10.SF loses 3/4 miners, we keep ours alive.PK dual bombs 6 and 5, getting 6, and narrowly missing getting 5 by 1 AB.SF attempt to bomb 2 many times, but fail.PK gets a sup in 1, df2 and minepacks for defensive tech.PK get a tp in 7PK try again to bomb 5, but the exp is approx 6k from our aleph, we come close many times, but fail. While this is going on, SF loses their last miner, and a couple of cons in their home (not all at the same time).PK push a tp into 6, after trying to get it into 9 (where SF have a ref), but are forced to rip it due to sfs.PK then push an exp into 9.PK get 3 bomb runs going, 1 via 8 to their home (eyed at the last second by a miner) 1 via 3 to 4. And one via 2 to 5.The bomb run on 4 succeeds, and we blow their tac.PK push an op into 4SF try to bomb our tac many times in the meantime, but still come up with a max of 1 missile in.PK get AB2 and bomb SF's exp from 4, this aleph is much closer, only 1.8kBomb run succeedsSF attempt to bomb our exp in 9 with 1 nan. They fail.SF attempt to bomb our exp in 9 with 3/4 nans. Same result.PK get bombers into 8, and then push an op in there.PK try without hvy ints to get into a well camped aleph. We all get podded.Hvy ints come upWe rush their home, but before we can kill the exp con on about 10% hull, aarm blows the garr, game over
Much stronger opening than we expected there SF, props to you on that.

After the opening 20-30 minutes it did look kind of bleak for us. You took our only viable U rock, we had no econ, and you had SFs and got an Exp up with Mini 2 Ints. It really did look bad.
Defending our Tac - which was 3k from the Aleph by the way - with bombers is not my idea of safety but we did manage it with some insane turreting from AD and D-Boy, and some great nanning from most of the team. My MVP award however goes to Phoenix1 for never stopping killing miners, I know there was probably people with him but it was his name I saw flash up time and time again; if SF had got their Heavies up we would have been seriously screwed.
Good game SF, it was a close thing.

Yeah, when SF started buying more cons, instead of getting their heavys up, thats what swung the game. Had they got hvys up, we'd have had to wait for an SY.

Adam, you missed the most grueling bit of the game:
Bomber alertOne bomberTwo bombersDead bombersMore bombersMoar bombers!mor bbrsmor bbrsbbrs
It really was like that.
It was a really great game, just could have done with a little less of the bombing routine.
BTW, the reason we lost?
I got too many kills.
In fact I was just one or two kills from causing a server crash. GPZ is better than Planet in this respect. Planet crashes when I get 4 kills.
Brilliant tactic PK, sending hordes of boosting ints to cause my kill count to overflow.

Yup Phoenix1 and Koczis shut down SFs economy really well. They were helped by the constant pressure of our bombing. Also Aeris micromanaged our 'economy' whilst Aarm was out getting me podded on endless bombruns.
That was the only time I have seen a comeback in a squad game. IIRC they had dual tech before our Tac planted and a coordinated mini2 camp on our Tac would have pretty much ended it.
It was a VGG.

Ugh, though never GPZ. Please planet. I'll take 150ms over 16% Packet loss any day. Lag affected a lot of our players in the first 15 mins, myself included. Given, it works both ways, but utility doesnt lag
EDIT: I forgot my epic miner saves. Giving me a 41 means that you cant kill miners, even with 2 SF

You say its a comeback?
We're truly honoured!
I know our opening was great but I'm not sure it was strong enough to warrant your victory as a comeback, but of course, I don't know how you saw it.
From our end, we couldn't exactly relax after the opening... I guess for PK, being outmaneuvered in the opening like that is unusual. Our comfortable position in the middle of the squad ranks means we out dish it out as often as we get it.
Most SGs are pretty much decided in the first 20 mins.
I joined ten mins in and we had lost 3 miners. We proceeded to lose a large chunk of the map, have no tech and no prospect of tech for some time. SF were mining happily and expanding.
SF could and should have won that in the midgame before we proceeded to scrape some tech and take the map back.
Yes, I think it was a comeback.
Favourite moment of the game... Seymor logs in - voice on TS - "Seymor, go kill miners" about 60 secs later Seymor kills SF miner.

I blame me for not being there.
I decided to relive the days gone by in my new blog.

Remember, what I say is IMO always. If I say that something sucks, it actually means "I think it sucks" OK?

Except the big about dorjan being jelly, that's just spidey's ego.

In my opinion it was most definitely a comeback. The balance of the game was in SFs favour for a long time, until we managed to get our Ints up I felt that one big bomb run could kill our Tac which would have meant game over (not because of the tech but because it was the only sector we could do anything offensive and put any pressure on you from). Pretty sure it took us over an hour to get our Exp and before that SF should have finished us.
