Mo powah to the people with some knowledge then.

The attitude in this helpline thread is sucky. What gives? Bored with stupid questions from ignorant players?

We are more annoyed by yet another false positive. It happens quite often, you know...

So,if the file in question is an MS necessity (I strongly suspect .net),and is making XT look bad(it's trying to park in THEIR sandbox, shouldn't they get their Junkyard dog Ozzy to fly to Redmond and bark at them?

Yes, it is part of .NET. Yes, it is by MS.

We can't fix your antivirus definitions for you. What you can do is to send the file off to them using their quarantine/analyze facility which every antivirus worth it's salt must have and let it be taken off the list during the next update. Since NOD doesn't report this false positive, I can't do this.

As for the attitude, you c... *muffle*

Err, I meant, we're sorry and we'll try to improve our customer relations in the future.

It could get a bigger problem since some AV manufacturers buy the same virus definition file from a central database...

And yes, we are losing players with this problem. Even in ACE at least one player is severely limited in playing.

I just got Alleg to launch with using Avast! by pausing the standard shield provider.
Done by: Right-click Avast! symbol in the bottom right corner of your screen-> mouse-over 'Pause Provider'-> click on 'Standard Shield'.
After your session is over resume the provider by right clicking the symbol again and going to resume provider, the Standard Shield will be right there.
