Ok... here's a picture:
What happens is this: I'll be flying along as normal, and all of a sudden my FPS will drop like a rock, then all stations/asteroids will turn into yellow rectangles, and soon after the whole map will turn yellow. I've tried installing older drivers to fix the problem, I've tried installing newer drivers to fix the problem... but what I've found works as a short term fix is to disable and then re-enable hardware rendering.
This happened before I installed the hi-res pack, and continues to happen (with the same frequency) after I installed the hi-res pack.
allegiance turns yellow

Don't find fault, find a remedy; anybody can complain.

@wasp: not sure, but I think it's happened without TSOverlay.

TO fix this (I had it) I just alt+tabed out and it or ctrl+enter'ed twice!
I decided to relive the days gone by in my new blog.

My brother, InfinityX has this sort of problem, although there's a little less yellow, just everything like rocks and stations turn yellow, and a big box of yellow over the HUD middle.
When your framerate starts dropping, try ALT+ENTER, which minimizes the size of the screen, I suppose minimize to taskbar would work too, it should freeze for about 3-5 seconds, but Inf has a good comp so yours might be longer. Once everything starts moving again, maximize the screen, and your FPS should be really high and it will reset the time untill the yellowness shows up. Apparently it happens because your drivers and such are too good for an old game like this.
It's a temporary fix, I know, but it works. For Infinity atleast, it might not for you, let me know if it does, then I'll know if it solves all the framerate drop -> yellowness problems.
Edit: Still got the problem? Been a while since you started this thread. You didn't say it was fixed so if it is fixed, and all this typing was in vain, it's YOUR fault XD
