Yeah TF Beacons need a nerf or price increase, it's hard to say what annoys me more of hunting rp's or beacons but it's pretty similar so the price should reflect that? That being said it has to fit in line with faction economy and stuff as you don't buy TF Beacons with IC miners, but it does seem that beacons are bit too cheap for thier power.Adaven wrote:QUOTE (Adaven @ Apr 22 2009, 04:25 PM) If I understand you post correctly, then my reply would be that they already do.
TF Beacons have roughly half the scan range of IC RP's, but they also have half the signature, making them much harder to spot.

Posting a bunch of crap to stir SOMETHING up behind a fake account is pretty lame. Post a problem* or just end this thread.

I thought apoch was just CC's "Comms Officer"?
I'd rather we have a bunch of minor changes that are bad or ill thought out than no change at all. At least then we can fix that in the next minor release and go on.

I did not mean to demean your opinions/contributions at all, frankly I agreed with most of what you said on the CC core forums (most of it was quashing all of the stupid opinions being offered)apochboi wrote:QUOTE (apochboi @ Apr 22 2009, 11:25 AM) Love you too, My squabbling is better than nothing. We have no policys so all I have is opinions. Sorry to dissapoint you.
but yeah, you hit the nail on the head, the devs seemed to have no policy.

I second this. I'd rather have lots of minor, frequent changes, some of which turn out to be mistakes and are un-done later, rather than no changes at all for a long time as the CC peoples try to pre-emptively balance it all. Don't be afraid to make mistakes.DasSmiter wrote:QUOTE (DasSmiter @ Apr 22 2009, 11:40 AM) I'd rather we have a bunch of minor changes that are bad or ill thought out than no change at all. How is retro-booster useless? Have you never launched in your nan-scout to save a miner heading towards you but in order to not "overboost" you have to start slowing down way early thus giving the attacker a couple more seconds to finish it. Now if I had a booster that let me stop quicker so I can reach the miner quicker then I wouldn't call it useless. Same with proxing alephs.

Hush kap, how can Apoch know things about allegiance if he doesn't play?
This is part of my issue with alleg's CC "top" devs right now. Look at apoch. He just came back, starts making statements and when was the last time he played more then one or two games? Really? Same with aarm. I love Aarm, but does he play on a regular basis anymore? SG's sure.

The job of balacing the community core doesnt require the devs to play the game constantly, thats the beauty of the idea. Community feedback for community changes.
Now im going to make this as clear as possible for you all to understand.
The core which was created by Andon had little to no community influence in the construction of it. No polls, no discussions and most of all they were not wanted changes from the community.
Now the sooner more people realise that and understand that they will realise why I said what I said about the release.
I've had it with the Community Core as it stands. I did a massive amount of work for this community to get it where it is today with the CC. I did all the releases and created the project. It's expected that I would be passionate about original vision of the project and what it should stand for. In my absence Weedman was working with the core I gave him which had Omicron Hive included into it. I dont feel like the game is so hideously unbalanced that there really needed to be a CC_04. Releasing cores for the sake of releasing them isnt the goal of project.
Not long after the project had started I had reservations about the lack of leadership in the project, I guess I kinda took on the role of leader in the absence. I didn't at any point feel like Andon was stepping on my shoes creating a release more that he didn't follow what had been previously done and agreed with as a protocal for creating and releasing cores.
I said alot of things in hindsight I probably regret, but it doesnt detract from the way this release (proposed release) was created.
As I said in this post, I'm removing myself from the CC development team, to focus on my own core's which I enjoy creating in my free time.
Thanks for your time all.
