Okay so apparently I to go through any menu on the game (from before I even go to the game room to selecting ships) I have to do some weird button combination on my mouse (left/right then left? I don't know, I can't find a pattern) I don't even know. I just mash random mouse buttons until it proceeds through menu screens/ship selection/launch/whatever. It makes absolutely no sense.
I'm running it on Vista, I have a Quad Core, 3 gigs of RAM, a GeForce 8500 GT, anyone have an explanation for this?
Menu Controls Awkward

I might do if I understood it?
This sounds like it should be in the helpline.
Read the Read Me. Fill out the template and make a thread.
Be sure to state exactly at which point you are experiencing problems, and what you see on screen, as the above post leaves me a little confused (which menu? In game? In the lobby? Training Missions?).
Help the helpline t0o help you, and we may solve it.
You should only need left-click to interact with any of the following menus:
Once within them some have additional options that may require right-click. However, the main things are still left-click.

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.
Yeah I've as of this point ascertained I put this in the wrong forum.
And to the second poster, I need to mash all my mouse buttons to get through any of those. A left click doesn't work alone. It's like...it's almost impossible to explain. EVERY clickable thing acts that way, even , all menus. It's horribly awkward, feels like a software issue.
It even happens at the screen where I choose LAN, Options, whatever. And on second test it seems I have to press both left and right mouse buttons at once, then click with the left, for a button to work. Though it's inconsistent.

Could this be a DirectX issue? You could be getting slow response when you click on things I suppose (bit of a shot in the dark from me)
May be worth trying the DirectX alpha build which is more compatible with recent GFX cards etc.
Have you tried opening allegiance in Windowed mode or Fullscreen? Try both modes to see if one works better for you.Kacen wrote:QUOTE (Kacen @ Apr 8 2009, 02:02 PM) I doubt it. I'm having a hard time explaining it. It's like I have to click multiple times and try random combinations of the left and right mouse buttons to get through the menus. In combat I have no problems, it's just through menus and such. It seems totally random and without pattern.
I Agree this sounds like an odd proble. - Hopefully an Admin will move it to the helpline so more people will look at it....
It defaults to fullscreen. How do I figure out windows mode? I'm gonna try and find out myself right now, but just in case I don't find it...notjarvis wrote:QUOTE (notjarvis @ Apr 8 2009, 09:27 AM) Have you tried opening allegiance in Windowed mode or Fullscreen? EDIT: Figured it out, though didn't change anything. Still having the same issue.
