Because that is what Cadet has been teaching for a couple years now: Use minepacks so that after you pod someone with them, there's not enough time for them to pk themselves.

I still prefer prox myself, but I can see what they are getting at.

Ad, they actually only say to do that in one instance: when nanning a bomber. They teach us that you should use minepacks when you're in the enemy's sector and defending a bomber with mines so they can't pod themselvs on the mine packs.

That being said, I haven't seen a commander buy minepacks in a looong time.

Ever join a team that is sup?
I'm sorry I don't remember any of it. For you the day spideycw graced your squad with utter destruction was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Sunday

grabbed it by accident.

I was attempting to nan btw. :P Come to think of it, I think the bbr died because it was way ahead of the nans. I was the only scout nearby as I had passed the bbr to try to cover the aleph. Fail.

Yes, quite frequently. Sup was, until recently, my favorite techpath by far. Most of the time pug commanders don't seem to buy MP1 for their sup teams.

Also I've never seen a squad game play sup. For squad games, I've seen IC expansion vs TF Expansion, IC Expansion vs IC Expansion, IC Expansion vs Rix Expansion, IC expansion vs Belts Expansion, IC Expansion vs IC Expansion, Belts Expansion vs Belts Expansion.

As a scout whore I will happily say: MP suck.

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.

Like I said... it was an accident. I usually never grab mps but I was in a hurry earlier in the game and $#@!ed up the loadout. /shrug

Going sup and not buying MP should be a criminal offense

Plus teams have gone Sup tons in SGs. Pretty much always Dreg, or BIOS Sup but still.

Crono, that's great and all, but it's not been my experience. In my experience, squad games are expansion 100% of the time. While it's obviously not true that 100% of squad games are expansion, (this game was sup vs exp, for instance) that doesn't at all alter the validity of my statement that I've personally never seen a team use supremacy as their main techpath for a squad game. All I was saying is that my only experience with supremacy is through pugs, which helps explain why I haven't seen minepacks.

I will add this: part of the reason I suspect I don't see minepacks is that Bios starts with them, and many of the sup games I play are either with or against bios.

And now for a noob question: Rix can get MPs right? Because I don't think I've ever had a minepack mounted on a rix fig.
