the questions were:
if the rank was based on points
and was it based on a AS prelease

the questions were not:
when will my rank update ( Andon )
are the points based on end game points as implied ( cookie )

answer is once again:
yes they are the points that help determine your rank and the system is HELO not AS.
the points are based on whether your team wins or loses and not the end game points

Ill add the additional bit:
your rank can fluctuate wihtout you gaining or losing points since the cut off for each rank changes by the number of people holding each one

hope that clears it up the reason I chimed with the actual answer that was asked Gandie

Is it some AllegSkill pre-release or something...
When you will log in your rank will be right and adjourned in the leaderboard.... This happens when you quit alleg and the win\loss games make you jump the rank. Leaderbord is not adjourned instantly after the game, sometimes it need hours.....

The AllegSkill leaaderboard has a handy new feature which indicates how soon the next update will occur. Currently it's set to refresh every five minutes, with a countdown time indicating as much.
