I can see it as abusive if they are being booted, but your suggestion is that all mutinies should be announced so the comm can boot everyone seems like a stupid idea.

People just take stuff too seriously I think. Except IB, of course.

I have never seen this happen with a (10) com. Though I have seen it with a (0) about a dozen times.

My opinion is, anyone who manages to lose a mutiny deserves it. I certainly wouldn't want to comm a team where half my pilots don't trust me to lead. Sitting in the commander's chair isn't a right, it's a privilege.

I'm afraid that I don't agree with you Arm, PU games(not noob servers) are great places to learn the commanding ropes, the other commander just needs to be of similar skill and not be mutnied himself.

fail. Utter fail.

If you don't know what your doing, and you refuse to listen to advice. Yeah, you get the mutiny.

As for boots to go along with mutinies, I find it raises team morale to boot the $#@!er who has been screwing you all over.

I'm afraid you're wrong. Learning to command during a pickup game when you aren't already a highly competent pilot is going to ruin the fun for everyone who has to fly for you. Why should everyone else have to suffer so randomSuckyVoob can "learn the commanding ropes" ?

Mutiny can only pass with majority vote. If the majority of your team don't want you in the command chair, you shouldn't be there. It's just that simple.

You can play whenever you want, but commanding is a privilege not a right around here.

As a counter-point to mutiny....

You know, it isn't horrendously difficult to launch another server....

I believe that you should had to be flying for a while, and learned the basics of allegiance. Then you must have commed and win at least 10 of the smaller games...Then you can *attempt* to command a PU game...

lol, this should be a political blog. I didn't mention anything about not listening to advice. Don't put words in my mouth.

I am talking about PREPLANNED MUTINY before the game begins in hopes removing the commander BEFORE he has a chance to command. In cases where the player is a (0) who refuses to give up GC or command and there has been PREGAME chat about this and still no budging I understand.

False support in hopes of ousting the com is frustrating to noobs/voobs and turns them off from this game.
Blah blah blah blah (breath) blah blah blah blah (breath) oh, what was this thread about again......

I've pre-planned mutiny and will continue to do so. You know why? A noob is wanting to comm, he won't step down. We talk to him on all chat BEFORE the game saying he shouldn't comm. He proceeds to be stupid and never listen even before the game launches. I join his team and talk to the players on said team telling them we'll mutiny right after the start to have a decent game.

I'll also try to get a decent comm BEFORE LAUNCH for the other team so that when I get comm, it's a decent game for all involved.

This is probably 99% of what you are seeing. It's easy to tell if someone shouldn't be commanding. They talk like they know it all and don't listen to anyone even before the game starts. If they are listening, even the slightest bit, I won't mutiny and won't bail.

IMO, what you are seeing is the community enforcing the fact that WE AS A COMMUNITY want decent pilots in the command chair. If there is serious abuse of this, I haven't seen it.

EDIT: Who have you seen mutinied that wasn't acting stupid before the game started?

if you have two roughly equal skill new commanders who have a rough idea of what they are doing and aren't annoying idiots, then mutinying and booting them when they haven't even made any mistakes or had time to just because you want a vet comm is bad and should be dealt with. - don't mutiny new comms if (there is a fair chance of a reasonable game) they have a reasonable idea of what's going on / what to do and are willing to learn.

If the one being mutinited is someone who OMG ROCKXX AR STARCRAFT LOLZ and is doing all kinds of silly stuff / won't give up comm when asked to before launch and the opponent is a better comm (basically the game is going to suck really badly) then do what you want with him.

basically the be nice to the good newbies, kill the bad noobs principle.

the mutinied person shouldn't be booted unless they deserve it (start bitching in chat, hostaged the server before launch)
