Router (Make and Model#):some Telus Provided things...
Internet Service Provider(company name): Telus
Location(State/Province/Locality, and Country): Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
Installed Mods: uh was in the middle of reinstalling all my mods back, think i finished hi-res pack.

Problem Encountered at Step #: 10
Which Program (ASGS/Allegiance): Allegiance
What Error Message: Failed to connect to server
Comments (What you tried, description, etc):

Okay, here I am, again. Vista stopped me playing months (almost a year?) ago, and probably Norton as well. Uninstalled that finally and decided to try out Allegiance again without any Anti-Virus running just to see if it works. Well, it did.

Played in main server game for about 15-20 minutes, getting podded all over the place and still trying to find where my controls are and remapping in the process... then it just crashed, and now I can't connect to any server.

Doesn't seems like an internet issue, I can goto lobby and all that. IIRC that was the same problem I had back then, only this time I tasted 15-20minutes of gameplay and it decided to cut me off...cruel /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

more info?

Double-check your firewall... I'm thinking that Vista turned something on that is now blocking you. oh.. double check the other services too.

BTW... nice to see you again.

This is a DirectPlay issue.

You need to restart your computer if this happens. Sometimes it fixes itself when the game ends. I'm not sure if it's a client or server problem and as far as I know, no leads on a real fix.

It has happened to me a few times (annoyingly in the middle of squad games too).

So it worked...for the next 2 games, after restart.

Went and installed all my old mods back, only to find that's happening again. No other system changes other than mods. Reinstalled and still no luck.

I think what ImmZ is trying to say, is that you'll have to reboot everytime after that happens.

I have the same problem sometimes at my other home. It's damn annoying and seems to have something to do with ISP (I play on the same laptop at both locations).

rebooted twice today already /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Edit: wait I see now I'm not clear enough.

It worked after rebooting for two games. then today when I tried to connect to a server (still can goto lobby), it doesn't work anymore. This time without crashing.

Yeah, that happens too. Sometimes I can play for some time without any problems, then at some point I start up Alleg and only can connect to GPZ or Planet. Then I have to reboot and it's all good again. I've tried neary everything to pinpoint the problem, but was unable to do so. My best guess is something getting borked at my ISP's side (based on this happening only with the crappier of my two ISPs).

Or DirectPlay - I don't know of a way to "reset" it other than a full system restart.

still no luck, must have restarted a dozen times already. I'm thinking of firewall but I don't have anything on right now...
