My system hard drive is to small. It's like a 30gb because I have an older laptop. But I got a 500gb external that I have to use. Doo you crete an .exe using notepad? Because if that is the case, we would have to rewright it.

I have my game on drive "D" and ASGS would dissapear and give me the error in the Dump log. So here is what I did so I would not have to reinstall onto my system drive.

1. Create a directory (folder) on the system drive and give it a name I called mine "Drive D".

2. Right clic on "My Computer" and select manage. Clic on Disk Management and right clic on the drive your game is on and select "Change drive letter and paths..." Clic the "Add" button. Select "Mount in the following empty NTFS folder" and enter the path or use the "Browse" button to find it. Clic OK

3. Edit your registry using regedit or another registry editing program and Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Microsoft Games/Allegiance. You will see some folders just open them and look for anything that refers to *Path and change the paths to match the new path. Just right clic on the key you want to change and select "Modify". Type in the correct path keeping the syntax intact I just copied and pasted the new part of the path.

4. You will also have to change the shortcuts to use the new path as well.

This worked for me...Good Luck.

This works!

Thank you very much!

I confirm that the issue is not about the C:\ letter.

The Windows installer on my laptop decided for no reason whatsoever that my Primary Master hard drive was to be named F:\; ASGS updated and authed and launched the game just fine on my laptop as well.

Maybe I'm just lucky? /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

I might have missed something, but...

All .NET Frameworks (1.1, 2.0, 3.5) and all patches/updates installed.
ASGS installed after the .NET Frameworks -- failed. Now updated to ASGS Build 165 using the archive posted by Pooky.
Boot partition is C:, System partition is D:, Alleg is installed on E:

Works fine without any special modifications (i.e. in particular without the 'subst' solution suggested by Burnin).

I got an "OOBE Failed" in the statusbar after launching ASGS, but after giving username and password, I could connect without any further problems.

PS: Thanks for bringing me back, 39 days of inactivity and the second time in red ever since joining this fine community were refreshing, but frustrating as well. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
