I played a game last night, around 8-9 MST, no one would step up to comm. Two mid level players had GC and comm, Snowleopard and someone else (sorry your name escapes me, please identify yourself), they are and 8 and 9 or so. They just started the game and went with it. There was the usual bellyaching from vets about factions and settings, blah blah blah. May I say to you both that you did a great job. Also thanks to the vets who gave them some good advice. It was as fun as any game I've ever played, even Thal showed up.

My point being, as soon as someone has a good grasp of the game, and no one will step up, let two even comms try. And don't bitch at them the whole game. Get someone to run their miners someone else to backseat them, and let them have a taste of the glory, if I may quote Nacho. Did they both make mistakes? Yes!! Awful ones. Yet players like Mallow, that pointed out their mistakes without being a total prick could eventually help them become decent comms.

We all know that short games with borked settings could be played in the time we wait in NOAT with our teeth in out head while the vet comm is having his dinner. I am not advocating we let any newb have GC, but if a mid level player wants to try, let them duke it out with someone around their skill level. I honestly believe some of us are constantly in pursuit of "the perfect game." Well, that is whet SG's are for. And if this post offends you or you have a problem with it, I would normally say sorry, but I feel Ozzyish today so just post your reply and shove it. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

P.S. Thanks to Mallow and my other nanners on my bomb runs. Awesome!!

munir was the other comm, and they weren't equal. snowleopard has been playing for a small ammount of time and munir used to play back on the old days

It wasn't a bad game, Munir did a solid job was backseating him a tad while basking in the rays of a turret gun, OMG its been too long, nearly 4 weeks without being able to fly.

Just a few tidbits.

If your running a solid bombing campaign and they aren't bombing back much, buy bomber tech and not bomber stopping tech, he started to purchase a lot of tech for our figs like gat3 which would have just helped the enemy stop our bombers.

Also, when your sup, don't build any more ops unless you have to have that sector now and have a tele con elsewhere, even then. . . . Ops are much harder for sup to defend, tele's are great, click, rip and D.

Prioritize. When you got their team ont he ropes, trade your op for their sup, instead we bombed a tele, they tried to defend it, we could have rolled right through the closer sup aleph and nailed their sup quite easily. Not a big thing, just a thought.

Overall nice job!

People seem to have trouble realizing that more tech isn't always better; Expansion vs Expansion, for example, I hear people scream at coms for buying mini3s...because you just bought that for the other team as well.

Commanding is like playing C&C except your units talk back, yell, and generally ignore you.

So it's exactly like C&C? Especially when you ask your units to pickup money crates? /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Well it's more like Starcraft because the scouts are Science vessels (detect enemies and can cast Defensive Matrix), TP2 droppers are like Ghosts, sneaking into the enemy base and nuking the @#(! out of it, miner whores are vultures who kill drones and stuff, bomber pilots are siege tanks, you get the idea.
