If your team cant manage to camp the alephs from inbound scouts, or bother probing likley TP2 drop sites...
Could you possibly deploy SC towers (AC if you dont have Tac) and possibly hold off a large drop?
XRM drops are expensive, and using towers to defend from one might be worth it.
Do towers kill missiles fast enough to counter XRMs? They are a large target afterall, and shooting down even a few may just buy enough time to kill the bombers.
Solution to the dreaded XRM drop?
yes towers win against any missile attack unless there are about 9-10 xrmers
at the very least, in large 30v30 games, you should easily be able to buy enough time for the 20 man bbr run to be killed by your adv tech

Get over yourselves, don't try to win arguments on the internet where the option of a punch in the mouth is unavailable

Yes, trying to expand one's knowledge is bad! Because everyone who matters knows everything there is to know about allegiance, and anyone who doesn't should just go play something more suited to their pea-sized brains.
So what if his communication style involves opening a lot of threads, just ignore them. There is good information in these discussions that can help make allegiance a better place.

I've done it before, with mixed results. Shiz is right, it's generally more effective to use them to camp alephs instead. Also, for the money it costs to properly skycap-shield a base, I'd rather buy a backup base instead.
Using AC towers to protect the base is worthless, they won't hit the missiles.
