For only... what? $10? you can research this useful bit of technology to allow the purchase of a $1 ship that could, when used in sufficient numbers, thwart an entire XRM drop!

The Observer has VERY high speed and acceleration making it ideal for missile interception, especially the large XRM cruise missiles.

When the observer is destroyed, one may hop in another to block yet more XRM missiles! You are not podded when the observer is killed.

It'd be easier to shoot down the missiles then ram them

Doesn't work. 10 observers vs 10 hvy bombers. The obs absorb the first wave of missle and die, during the time that it takes for you to ressurect the enemy has already fired off three more waves of XRM. Dead base.

Plus, how could you possibly kill the bombers with obs, or the TP2?

Silly idea. Breaking camps with obs is a better idea, plus it's funnier too.

They were created so that cadets could observe squad games from places other than f3.

You people do realize that an observer has both scan and sig equal to zero, right?

Guardians have scan range of 0 too. Oh the fun I had walking two sectors, camping the only probe we had in that sector and blowing everything up /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" /> No-one ever thought of shooting the probe....

On the subject of Weylin, his question on blowing up rocks was reasonable - he's not a complete idiot. And his opening line indicates he may be joking to some degree at least! Play nice now /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
