There are others human probes and Spawn is very good at it, along with Morde. As for nanning if your the last scout or the prefered target scout with multi int luvin then poof the magic pod is your name for sure. However jinking about, knowing when to start and stop nanning, ship placement, intelligent laying down of mines, smart vectors and cross nanning ( with hopefully a juicy kb bonus ) means many more successfull run. Deprobing ahead, sneak and peek an aleph, pushing the bomber are the basics only. A common mistake made is to say to one's self, 'Oh well Ive lost my kb Ill nan.' another nan is cool and all but a nan with a fat kb is the secert to the bomber pilot getting his name in red letters across everyone's screen.Bacon wrote:QUOTE (Bacon @ Dec 20 2007, 02:46 AM) Anybody who doesn't *know* that Noir is the best human probe/spotter in Alleg needs to... um.... know that... he is...
But yeah, Noir is a freakin' pain in the neck for any enemy team.
As for the other stuff I have no idea. Defi's good at proxing, but it's kind of all she does, so I'm thinking there is a little bit of a skewed result there. If I spent as much time proxing as she does, I'd have a lot more prox kills as well... but I don't...
Nanning I've never really considered to be something that any individual is particularly good at. If you can hit the bomber with your nan shots and can drop prox behind you/in front of the friendly bomber, you're doing a damn fine job as far as I'm concerned. A lot of it is luck and not being the nan that the ints decide to shoot at.

There is one more use for a scout that you've left out.
The Living Payday.
BV and Noir are the only people besides myself who I've noticed actively tracking down cash without commander prompting. You'd be surprised how much of it is left floating out there and how far it will get your team.

Being a good cross-nanner is definitely an important skill to learn - keeping other nans alive but also making sure the bomber doesn't die at the same time.Bacon wrote:QUOTE (Bacon @ Dec 20 2007, 07:46 AM) Anybody who doesn't *know* that Noir is the best human probe/spotter in Alleg needs to... um.... know that... he is...

Lol, Morde's connection is too slow for him to do anything else /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />

I like doing that, but I often feel guilty for doing it. "All seems quiet, do I leave the miner (s) for the time it takes to pick up that 500 cr 2k away...", should I detour to those 2-3 cashboxes when doing the early probing & aleph finding...Lindy_Hop wrote:QUOTE (Lindy_Hop @ Dec 20 2007, 05:14 PM) There is one more use for a scout that you've left out.

Most often I suspect the ansver is that I shouldn't. The lower the money settings for the game, the more actively I hunt for cashboxes though.

Mallow is the best. I would also like to mention my long lost buddy Alfull as having close to if not as much skill in a scout.
Mallow and Alfull active at the same time in a BS squad game. Man, thems would be the days.
