Oh wait, asteroids arn't supposed to spawn that close to alephs, the rock like thing turns out to be a friendly carrier.
At least you had a quick pickup /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />

I've gotten to play in a few games with FF on again, and I must say it brings a little bit of extra enjoyment to the game, at least for me. The 2 vs. 2 zone games shoud propably be run with FF on too, so that the friendly fire incidents wouldn't just effect one's allies /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
I also got a bit reminder on how it can sometimes suck to have it off. I had only read about the "friendly probe at the red door" asshattery, but having experienced it in a long, cool game I must say it was utterly infuriating in practise. Accident or sabotage, it would still be nice to be able to plow right through that sputnik and not have to worry about it later.

Terr's fix works fine. However in DN the scale of the bases and the ships is such that there is very little to no leeway in docking. If the bases were made bigger (or the ships smaller but that's a bigger balance change) then docking would work fine. Noir is aware of this but has not yet chosen to implement it (chosing to replace all GT tech bases with the Research station model instead, which doesn't really work).hockey1015 wrote:QUOTE (hockey1015 @ Oct 4 2007, 02:04 AM) actually, it's been proven to be a bug, with proposed fixes, but hasn't been hashed out yet. basically, the actual model of the door is screwed up, with some specifics about it not fitting the base model. Terralthra has submitted what was thought to be a fix, but no such luck as of yet. There are some docking techniques that minimize the screw up possibilities, but it is still very possible to bounce off violently.
If you try playing GT in EoR 6a it's fixed and docking is fine (and other cores most likely, I know it works on EoR for sure though).
