Are we currently just playing DN games?

When Vegeta is present in pickup games it seems like he usually ends up commanding and it will be TF. Then again, that's not so surprising. Note that my sample size is pretty small, since I've only recently got back into the fray.

Apparently I'm the only one who likes TF... /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

TF is probably the one faction I wish got played more. Possibly my favorite, next to Belters.

Gotta love the dual-gun scouts (GOOD guns too) and the wicked fighters.

TF adds dimensions to the game (prox generators, fast but low cap miners, extremely short rip on everything etc.) that most old-schoolers will be uncomfortable with. Hands down, their ships when used correctly, are some of the best dogfighting craft in the game.

TF can be related to EoR *almost* in the sense that nobody wants to touch them because they're different.

Phoenix also has superior combat ships (zomg hvy int with rix roll and no axis nerfs? YES PLEASE), but the deduction of being able to nan things like bombers tend to turn the more 'classical, this is the way it SHOULD be' players away from liking the faction.

My response is; diversify. Deviate from the standards. Escape from the entrapments of thinking, playing and getting sucked into conformity, because not everyone wants to play Bios vs Belters every single game.

I agree. With my limited experiance I have found a lot of things confusing. All the cores etc.

It's nice to stick with a standard, I've been playing on the DN servers because they're most popular. I would touch the rest purely because there is so much to learn in DN that there is no need! lol.

And with Pheonix, it's the only faction i've gotten on with as it is very simple (until you get up to the bomb things etc) but if you stick with normal tech it's the easyiest "n00b"ish faction around. Great shields, no repairing, slow tech but powerful. I like them but I've not really tried the others. One of the factions i really don't like is the one with drones instead of missles. an Undefended Expantion tech base withstood 8 of the things put next to it (even though 1 of them took out a refinary!) and by next to it i mean within 1k

I decided to relive the days gone by in my new blog.

The main thing I dislike about TF is probably how easy the Cons go into a rock, after all it's my experience that 3/4 of the Battle is getting the Con to the rock and the remaining fourth is to make sure it goes in. The other factions take several uninterrupted seconds to align and push in... TF doesn't seem to have that.

I like Giga too. They are tricky to play but very atmospheric.

The original three human factions + belters all have a very strong theme and feel to them, and the game feels like what one would expect with the original intro & story.

Rix I never liked. They already are too different, and the addition of aliens into the story doesn't sit well with me. I don't like the pods :(

They are too weird, with dodgy reasoning. The guns have zero deviation. That takes away an important equalising aspect. Usually even the best gunner can't hit with every shot at range, simply because of the limited accuracy of the weapons. TF takes that away. And these super weapons are called plasma!! Plasma expands very rapidly, and doesn't in any way perform like the TF weapons. I guess it's a Sci-Fi sounding name picked at random, but why not call them massdrivers or something like that, and give them a significant drawback to go with it? Like having the shots be way slower than those of the particle weapons.

Uh.... too spesific for this thread I guess. Sorry.

Their shots are already slower then particle weapons bud /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />, and only the prox mines were replaced with Plasma Generators.

TF was designed to be a machine based faction, perfect weapons, beeps and boops, are the trademark of a machine /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

umm, i'm sorry, i FREAKING LOVE TF GUNS!!!!

TF hvyint is PERFECTLY accurate to its dead range. The problems with TF are twofold, Lag, and aim. You have to have a good connection to hit anything, and you have to be able to aim. If you have both of those, TF is the most deadly faction out there when it comes to ship to ship.

nextly, in the current version of DN, TF was "balanced" to fix an overpowering, unfortunately, it got OVER"balanced" and is now nearly unplayable.

the fix is coming, play other factions for the time being and be patient, 4.7 will be awesome
