Hello everyone.
I loved Allegiance already when it launched, despite the problems with Zone. I'm really happy to get back into the Big Black, now that I've fixed my network problems.
The new version is great, and the fan community is amazing.
I find myself constantly puzzled by Friendly Fire being turned off in all the days I've gotten to play in. Why is that? Having to be careful about shooting in close quarters is a big part of the atmosphere for me. If people aren't careful and skilled when shooting, there should be consequences... having FF off just feels like a cheat.
What's the reasoning here? Heck, we are all proud about our skill. Let's keep the realism toggle high!
Friendly Fire, let's bring it back!

And it sucksGrimmwolf_GB wrote:QUOTE (Grimmwolf_GB @ Oct 1 2007, 02:27 PM) I think it just happened to be off most of the times and now many tactics are based on that.
Tactics based on the fact that friendly fire doesn't exist are basically just cheating. In the very least it hurts the atmosphere.

Heh, FF really doesent effect many tactics. Even ramming is A-Ok because your nans can just x-nan the rammer. Makes it harder to do 1 nan bomb runs though.Adept wrote:QUOTE (Adept @ Oct 1 2007, 07:35 AM) And it sucksthat's a crummy reason for anything.

I don't want that time to be a @#(!-storm of hate and schadenfreude.

There have been more then a few times that as commander I have wanted to blow up a second base in a system that we have capped or been forced to build a tech base in so the noob defenders dont pop out 8k away from the base I want defended.zecro wrote:QUOTE (zecro @ Oct 1 2007, 09:22 AM) You do, however, run into the problem of people bombing their own bases because they are dissatisfied with something.

Seriously? Damn...zecro wrote:QUOTE (zecro @ Oct 1 2007, 04:22 PM) You do, however, run into the problem of people bombing their own bases because they are dissatisfied with something.
Well that shouldn't be a problem in zone events and squadron play. And heck... crazy tantrums like that should just get one booted from the game and if repeated... somethign more permanent.
